Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority Metro Energy provided energy engineering and construction management services for the successful installation of the Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority (“NWBCU) 334 kW aeration tank mounted solar system. The project was part of the Bergen County Improvement Authority’s Solar Initiative. As the energy consultant to the BCIA, Metro Energy began by conducting a solar feasibility study at the NWBCUA site in Waldwick, NJ. Project: Aeration Tank Mounted Solar System Project Cost: $2.3 million NJ Office of Clean Energy Rebate: $662,000 Utility Incentive: $650,536 On behalf of the NWBCUA, Metro Energy oversaw a competitive procurement process to solicit proposals from companies who specialize in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of solar systems. Simultaneously, Metro Energy prepared the NJ Office of Clean Energy rebate submittal package. Once the contractor was selected Metro Energy provided construction management services to ensure the project was installed on time and on budget. The project was successfully completed for all phases of work on time and under the total project budget of $2.3 million. Metro Energy secured approximately $662,000 in rebates through the New Jersey Clean Energy Program. With the assistance of Metro Energy the NWBCUA was able to secure an interest free loan for work on this project. The solar system will provide output of 367,400 kWh annually.
