Metro Energy provided energy engineering and
construction management services for the successful
installation of the Northwest Bergen County Utilities
Authority (“NWBCU) 334 kW aeration tank mounted solar
system. The project was part of the Bergen County
Improvement Authority’s Solar Initiative. As the energy
consultant to the BCIA, Metro Energy began by
conducting a solar feasibility study at the NWBCUA site in
Waldwick, NJ.
Project: Aeration Tank Mounted
Solar System
Project Cost: $2.3 million
NJ Office of Clean Energy
Rebate: $662,000
Utility Incentive: $650,536
On behalf of the NWBCUA, Metro Energy oversaw a
competitive procurement process to solicit proposals from
companies who specialize in the design, construction,
operation and maintenance of solar systems.
Simultaneously, Metro Energy prepared the NJ Office of
Clean Energy rebate submittal package. Once the
contractor was selected Metro Energy provided
construction management services to ensure the project
was installed on time and on budget.
The project was successfully completed for all phases of
work on time and under the total project budget of $2.3
million. Metro Energy secured approximately $662,000 in
rebates through the New Jersey Clean Energy Program.
With the assistance of Metro Energy the NWBCUA was
able to secure an interest free loan for work on this
project. The solar system will provide output of 367,400
kWh annually.
