Twenty numbers
of one day State Level Vendor
Development Programme (SLVDP) were organized with
Central Government Departments, CPSUs and Corporations
including Paramilitary Forces (Delhi Police, CISF& SSB),
CEL, BHEL, IRCTC, ITDC, NTPC, IOCL, State Farm
Corporation (SFC), FCI, REC, Northern Railway including
two programmes with Dalit Chamber of Commerce &
Industry (DICCI) and National Scheduled Caste Finance
Development Corporation in association with NSIC Ltd
during January-March, 2014.
The objective of the
programmes was to get direct market for the benefit of Micro
and Small Enterprises (MSEs) and making awareness about
Public Procurement Policy to the officers & staff members of
organisation engaged in procurement.

MSME-DI, New Delhi organized two days National
Level Vendor Development Programme cum Industrial
Exhibition on 2 0 t h & 2 1 s t February, 2014 at Institute
premises in association with National Small Industries
Corporation (NSIC) & Paramilitary Forces. The objective of
the programme was to develop vendors from Micro and Small
Enterprises (MSEs) for Paramilitary forces like CISF, BSF,
SSB, ITBP, CRPF, Delhi Police etc. The programme was also
aimed to assist paramilitary forces and other CPSUs for
achieving the goal of 20% procurement of their annual
requirement from MSEs as per provisions of Public
Procurement Policy, 2012. In this event, the MSEs were also
made aware of the existing schemes & policies of Government
of India for the Promotion & Development of MSEs. This

New Delhi has been awarded in three category namely:
Sh. Praveen Kumar, DIG, CRPF addressing the gathering
during Valedictory Function
Four awards were won by MSMEs from Delhi NCR
in the area of Innovation in MSMEs, Outstanding
Entrepreneurship in MSME, Quality Products in Micro &
Small Enterprise (MSEs) and Lean Manufacturing
Techniques in MSMEs.
 1st prize for innovation in MSMEs
 2nd prize for outstanding entrepreneurship in MSMEs
display their products & capabilities to buyer organization and
requirements of products & services by Paramilitary
Organisation. The exhibition provided a common platform for
the buyers and sellers to have interactions for business
opportunities. Total Seventy Three units from industry (Micro
Enterprises - 22 (Women - 05 & SC - 03), Small Enterprises - 46
(Women - 05 & SC - 01) and Medium Enterprises - 05)
participated in the programme. Paramilitary organizations like
CISF, CRPF, SSB, BSF & Delhi Police also displayed products
which are being procured by them. Apart from Paramilitary
forces, State Bank of Hyderabad, DCB Bank and CPSUs like
Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) also participated in the
programme.

Quarterly Publication from MSME-DI, New Delhi, Ministry of MSME, Government of India
National Workshop on Experiences of Lean
Manufacturing was organized by the Institute at Jacaranda
Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on
6th February, 2014. The Programme was inaugurated by
Sh. Madhav Lal, Secretary (MSME) Govt. of India. In his
inaugural address Chief Guest appreciated MSEs for
availing benefits of Lean Scheme operated by the Ministry
and be competitive to face the challenges in present global
industrial scenario.
He emphasized the National
Productivity Council (NPC) and other agencies to
implement the Lean Scheme in 1000 clusters in next
phase. Sh. Amarendra Sinha, AS & DC (MSME), advised
Directors of MSME-DIs & NPC to identify more MSEs/
Entrepreneurs who are willing to become the partner in
lean cluster. The other dignitaries on the dais Sh. Amit
Yadav, Commissioner Industries, Govt. of NCT Delhi,
Sh. Vipin Sahni, CEO Quality Council of India (QCI),
Dr. S.K. Chakravarty, DDG, National Productivity Council
(NPC) also addressed in the Inaugural session.
During Inaugural Session Compendium of Success
Stories of Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme
was released by chief guest and other dignitaries.
Presentations were made on Lean Benefits, 4 years journey
of Lean, Relevance of Lean for MSMEs, Experiences of
Lean in Auto Components & Light Engineering, etc. by
the experts in the Technical session. Sh. Ramesh K.
Pandey, JDC (MSME) welcomed all the dignitaries, guests
and participants and briefed about importance of Lean in
MSE sector. Vote of thanks was given by Sh. R.P. Vaishya,
Director, MSME-DI, New Delhi. 190 participants from
industry and Govt. Officials attended the workshop.

Visiting the Stalls
State Level Advisory Board Meeting was held on
11.03.2014 at 419, FIE, Patparganj, Delhi, under the
chairmanship of Sh. Rajiv Kale, Special Commissioner of
Industries, NCT Delhi. Sh. R.P. Vaishya, Director, MSMEDI as Member Secretary of SLAB Meeting explained about
purpose of the meeting. Director also clarified the various
issues which were raised by members regarding schemes
and programme of MSME. The minutes of last meeting
held on 01-12-2011 were formally approved by the members
without any comments. Representatives of Commissioner of
Industries, MSME-DI, National President All India
Confederation of Small and Micro Industries, Member of
FICCI, Laghu Udyog Bharati, various Industrial Area
Associations, RBI, Banks, etc. attended the meeting.

 1st prize for Lean Manufacturing Techniques in
MSMEs.
The company established in the year 1993 for
manufacturing of Audio Amplifiers and PA System. An
ISO-9001:2008/ANSI/ASQ certified company is also
implementing lean Manufacturing Techniques like 5S
methodology, Standard Operating Procedure to establish a
system for production process including packing and final
inspection, POKA YOKE Method for error proofing and
Enterprise Resource Planning in its enterprise.

Sensitization programmes on Bar Coding (BC) were organized
during January to March, 2014. The main objective behind the
programme was to increase the awareness of Government
Schemes with special focus on scheme to promote the use of
Bar Code and reimbursement of the expense for Bar Code by
Ministry of MSME, Government of India.

One day Awareness cum sensitization programme
on Quality Management Standards & Quality Technology
Tools (OMS/QTT) was organized in association with
Faridabad Small Industries Association on 25th March,
2014 at Hotel Park Plaza, Faridabad. Sh. R.P. Vaishya,
Director, MSME-DI, New Delhi presided over the
function and Inaugurated the Programme. Shri Rajiv
Chawla, President Faridabad Small Industries Association
also graced the occasion; he motivated the participants to
make utilise of the scheme to become competitive.

Virtual Clusters, an initiative of Ministry of MSME,
was launched by Sh. K.H. Muniyappa, Honorable
Minister of MSME, on 1st March, 2014 during the
Presentation Ceremony of National Awards to MSMEs
in New Delhi.
Virtual Cluster is a dedicated Web Portal which will
enable MSMEs located any where in the country and
other stake holders like Banks, Financial Institutions
various Government bodies, NGOs, Industry Experts,
Consultants, Trainers, Academia, Research and Technical
Institutions etc. to come together and relate to each other
through virtual network of clusters. The virtual cluster
approach overcomes the limitations of Physical
Approach requiring the location of units.
The web portal will be administered by NIESBUD,
an organization under the Ministry of MSME.
MSEs can register themselves in the portal at
http://msmecluster.in and avail the benefits of this
initiative.
