Several classes of electronic devices and circuits will be covered, including diodes and diode circuits, bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) and amplifiers, metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) and amplifiers, and operational amplifiers. 2) An introduction to frequency domain analysis and electrical machines will be given. Student Learning Outcomes: Upon satisfactory completion of the subject, the students are expected to 1) Be able to describe the fundamental aspects of diodes and diode circuits, bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) and amplifiers, metaloxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) and amplifiers, and operational amplifiers 2) Be able to apply frequency domain analysis to first-order circuits and to describe the fundamental aspects of electrical machines. 1 ENG238: Basic Electricity and Electronics II FENG (2012/13 Semester 2) The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Faculty of Engineering Lectures: Lecturer: Dr. Y.M.
