4. Step Dimming – Step Dimming available with
the following lamping options: (1) or (2) 28W T5,
(2) 54W T5 HO, or (1) or (2) 32W T8.
5. Mounting – Surface-mount with two supplied
stainless steel mounting brackets. May be suspended
with 20" Aircraft Cable Suspension Kit, or 2 foot or 4
foot white stems. Optional Center Feed comes from
the factory pre-drilled. Feed cord is white.
6. Cool Spot Optimizer – Aluminum sleeve
with an injection molded insert that sits into the
T5 / T5 HO lamp base (one per lamp on the label
side). Keeps the cold spot of the lamp insulated
and close to its optimal operating temperature
in cold weather.
In a continuing effort to offer the best product possible, we
reserve the right to change, without notice, specifications or
materials. Technical specification sheets that appear on
www.zumtobel.us are the most recent version and supersede all
other versions that exist in any other printed or electronic form.
7. Sensor – External sensor mounted at the factory
through end drill guides. Can be set in the field for
occupancy control, or set with daylighting override.
Sensor drops 5.5” below the bottom of CHIARO II,
and protrudes out 5.5” from the end of the fixture.
8. Emergency Backup – Integral EM with (1) or
(2) lamp 28W or 32W, or (1) lamp 35W, 40W, or
54W. Remote EM pack for (2) 35W, (2) 40W, and
(2) 54W. (Remote EM not available with 4' stem
mount.) Test switch located inside housing. EM not
available with 80W.

Cool Spot Optimizer
The Zumtobel patented Cool Spot Optimizer (CSO)
was designed to help T5 and T5 HO lamps run at their
optimal operating temperature. These lamps achieve
maximum light output at 35° C (95° F). Significantly
lower or higher temperatures may decrease the
light output.
The aluminum sleeve with an injection-molded insert
fits onto the T5 or T5 HO lamp base on the label end.
For 2 lamp fixtures, the CSO is needed on each lamp.
Comparison Test with Cool Spot Optimizer –
tested fixture was FZ801
Daylight/Occupancy Sensor
The Daylight/Occupancy sensor is installed at the
factory at the end of the fixture. The sensor can be
set in the field to adjust the sensitivity, and can be
used as a Daylight sensor with Occupancy override,
or just as an Occupancy sensor.
