TECH NOTES
Updating firmware – IP Link Pro firmware can be updated from Extron’s Toolbelt
utility. Additionally, the firmware can be updated without additional software via the
embedded web pages in IP Link Pro control processors. Please consult the User’s
Manual for more information on uploading via the embedded webpages.
Minimum Firmware Versions in Controller Groups – When a controller group is
formed, the same version of firmware must be loaded to all members of the
controller group.

KNOWN ISSUES
The following is a list of known firmware issues found in the IP Link Pro firmware
version 1.06.0000-b005
Issue (originated in 1.06.0000-b005) – Switched 12VDC Power Ports status
not working – The combined load and combined wattage feedback state is not
working, if configured for status nothing is returned.
Issue (originated in 1.00.0008) – RS-485 not working properly - RS-485
mode is currently not working properly.
Issue (originated in 1.00.0008) - Updating Firmware, order of operations for
controller groups – When updating controller firmware on a running system
configured with controller groups, the primary controller must be the last device
updated. Failing to follow this order of operations can result in the secondary
controllers losing status for serially controlled devices. This issue may also occur in
the event that a secondary controller is power cycled independently of the primary
controller. Solution: Power cycling the primary controller will restore the lost status
for serially controlled devices.

FIRMWARE RELEASE HISTORY
Released Version: 1.06.0000-b005
Affects:
Firmware Revision: 1.05.0001-b001
Date: Units shipped prior to July 15, 2015
The following is a list of changes and fixes in this release.
Added Feature – Support for the TLP Pro 1520 Series - Firmware version
1.06.0000-b005 is the minimum firmware version required for use in systems which
contain the TLP Pro 1520 series of touchpanels.
Added Feature – Support for the TLP Pro 1220 Series - Firmware version
1.06.0000-b005 is the minimum firmware version required for use in systems which
contain the TLP Pro 1220 series of touchpanels.
Fixed Issue (originated in v1.05.0001-b001) – Digital output port default
condition – Flex I/O and digital I/O ports configured as digital output ports would
default to the “on” state following a power cycle. This issue has been resolved, the
port will default to the “off” state following a power cycle.
Fixed Issue (originated in v1.00.0008) – Sending mail without email server
configured – If a system is configured to send email without an email server
provided the touchpanel within the system would stop responding. This issue has
been resolved.

FIRMWARE RELEASE HISTORY
Released Version: 1.05.0001-b001
Affects:
Firmware Revision: 1.04.0000-b201
Date: Units shipped prior to May 29, 2015
The following is a list of changes and fixes in this release.
Added Feature – Support for the TLP Pro 320 Series - Firmware version
1.05.0001-b001 is the minimum firmware version required for use in systems which
contain the TLP Pro 320 series of touchpanels.
Fixed Issue (originated in v1.00.0008) – Improved system stability – In
some systems Touchpanels and/or VTLP will periodically display “waiting For Sync”
and would require the primary control processor in the system be power cycled or
rebooted via Toolbelt to restore connectivity. The frequency of this problem has been
significantly reduced and should no longer occur in most cases.

FIRMWARE RELEASE HISTORY
Released Version: 1.04.0000-b201
Affects:
Firmware Revision: 1.03.0000-b002
Date: Units shipped prior to March 30, 2015
The following is a list of changes and fixes in this release.
Added Feature – GlobalViewer Enterprise Support – Firmware version
1.04.0000-b201 is the minimum firmware version required for integration of IP Link
Pro control processors and GlobalViewer Enterprise 2.2.
Fixed Issue (originated in v1.03.0000-b002) – Gigabit LAN LED status not
working on IPL Pro CR88 – Gigabit LAN LED status on the IPL Pro CR88 controller
does not function when connected to a gigabit switch. This issue has been resolved.
Fixed Issue (originated in v1.03.0000-b002) – IPL Pro IRS8 and IPL Pro
CR88 displaying incorrect model – When discovered using Extron Toolbelt
software both the IPL Pro CR88 and IPL Pro IRS8 would display as the IPCP Pro CR88
and IPCP Pro IRS8. This issue has been resolved.
Fixed Issue (originated in v1.00.0008) – During a build and upload process,
software frequently triggers an error “Hardware is in an unknown state.” –
In some combinations of firmware and software, GCP would report “Hardware is in
an unknown state” even when the computer running the software had no network
issues when attempting to connect to the intended hardware. The frequency of this
problem has been significantly reduced and should no longer occur in most cases,
but it requires using both the latest software and latest firmware. This issue has
been resolved in GCP version 1.3.0 in combination with control processor firmware
1.04.0000-b201.
