The CSME corona treatment station has been specially designed for small-scale series production. It combines the advantages of economical standard systems and SOFTAL custom-engineered premium solutions. This station is our response to frequent customer requests for a compact, versatile, and economical treatment station for refresh treatment of medium-width materials in printing, laminating, coating, and other converting processes. Each step of the CSME station‘s design was taken with special consideration for optimum cost-benefit-ratio. It is marketed in standardized packages for cost-optimized manufacturing. Decades of design experience are reflected in the technical details: With compact build and robust side frames, the CSME requires minimal space and can be installed in a number of positions. It is ideally suited for integration into new machines, or upgrading existing systems. The high-voltage transformer is mounted directly on the station side frame, and a high-voltage cable is not required. The station can be specified for film widths between 800 and 2500 mm. An optional nip roll can be added without affecting the compact dimensions. Condensate forming in regions with high air humidity is channeled into a condensate trap for draining or collection. A range of coatings is available for the treater roll. The station is factory-prepared for implementation of a speed-dependent power control system. The treater roll is fitted with a drive journal, and can be equipped with a drive motor as part of an active web tension control system.
