LED LEADERSHIP
INNOVATION IN ACTION
The Cooper name has stood for
innovation, service and expertise for
over 175 years. Today, Cooper Lighting’s
LED Innovation Center is home to the
design, validation and manufacturing of
proprietary LED technologies. Through
changing times and technologies,
Cooper answers the call to provide
relevant, industry-leading solutions
to evolving market needs.
BEST-IN-CLASS DESIGN + RELIABILITY
Precision design practices and rigorous
reliability testing result in dependable
luminaires that thrive in outdoor
environments. The Marquis LED is rated
for operation in -30°C to 40°C ambient
environments, comes equipped with
10kV transient surge protection and is
backed by a five-year warranty from a
world-class manufacturer.
RELIABLE PRODUCTS THAT PERFORM TO EXPECTATION
From the exterior housing to the internal electrical components, Cooper Lighting selectively manufactures and qualifies premium components.
Precision engineering practices and stringent testing standards generate superior performing luminaires with architectural design details and
reliable quality that withstand the rigors of the outdoor environment.
LONG LIFE
With a 50,000+ hour rated
life at greater than 70% lumen
maintenance, Marquis LED
operates six times longer than
traditional metal halide solutions.
ENERGY SAVINGS + ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
The simplest and most effective way to reduce a lighting
fixture’s impact on the environment is to minimize its
energy consumption. By incorporating highly reflective
materials with a passive thermal dissipation system,
Marquis LED can provide more than 50% energy savings
when compared to standard HID sources.
OPTICAL CONTROL
Superior optical control results from six precisely-aimed optical
modules, optimizing the light output to render uniform
illuminance. Each module is specifically designed to provide even
illumination and high average illuminance levels. A combination
of high reflective material, optimized profiles and clear, prismatic
and stippled glass directs light in a concentrated manner.
COLOR
Lighting professionals have long preferred light sources that
provide a balanced spectral power distribution and warm white
light. Typical LED solutions standardize on a cold blue
6000K-6500K Correlated Color Temperature [CCT] to maximize
lumen output. The Marquis LED provides warm white light at a
standard 4000K CCT with no sacrifice in lumen output.
Message colors are enhanced by providing a comparable Color
Rendering Index [CRI] to traditional quartz metal halide solutions.
FEATURES + BENEFITS
DURABLE CONSTRUCTION + FINISH
The Marquis LED design is driven by application, material and performance specifications. Lenses, molded
reflectors and LED technology have been meticulously designed and implemented to optimize the
specifications to the application. The refractive lens joined with the proprietary reflector system creates
world-class performance. An integral leveling bubble, self-rising mounting clamps, and a standard surge
protection module complete the framework of the Marquis LED and mate the tradition of HID fixtures with
the advantages of LED technology.
The Marquis LED is available in six standard colors: grey, bronze, black, dark platinum, graphite metallic,
and white. The super durable TGIC powder coat paint ensures the Marquis LED will withstand the rigors of
time and field application.
ENERGY-SAVING SOLUTIONS
Marquis LED provides up to 52% energy savings over traditional sources.
The Marquis LED modular design and integral electronics allow for the reduction
of power consumption without impacting the overall shape or directionality of
the distribution, maintaining uniform light levels.
HEAT SINKS
The monolithic die-cast heat sink allows for passive
cooling and natural cleaning of the heat sinks,
ensuring reliable operation in -30°C to 40°C
ambient environments. The unique one-piece casting
eliminates thermal barriers, enhancing natural cooling
of LEDs and maximizing service life. A low, shallow
profile reduces message obstruction.
PHOTOCONTROL LOCATION VERSATILITY
Two available PC locations ensure the LEDs will
reliably illuminate when desired, regardless of
fixture orientation.
SURGE SUPPRESSION
Marquis LED is shipped standard with
a replaceable circuit module
incorporating internal fusing and
MOVs designed to withstand 10kV
of transient line surge.
LATCHES
Two latches provide tool-less entry to the lead wires
and mounting hardware.
MOUNTING VERSATILITY
Designed for new construction and
retrofits, three available mounting
configurations allow for quick and
simple implementation in the field.
Direct mount, internal mast arm
mount, and a slipfitter with a knuckle
are available as standard mounting
options. Proprietary self-rising clamps
on the internal mast arm option ensure
ease of installation.
LEVEL BUBBLE
The Marquis LED integrates a level
bubble, allowing the installer to quickly
and efficiently level the fixture to the
correct operating position.
CONFIGURATIONS + LAYOUTS
TECHNOLOGY + SYSTEM
OPTIMIZATION TO REDUCE
ENERGY CONSUMPTION
Continued improvement in LEDs
has ensured the success of the
technology in applications where
legacy lamp technologies and their
related systems are inefficient,
maintenance-intensive and
unpredictable. The coupling of
LEDs into any application with high
maintenance costs and high light
levels allows the customer to benefit
from saved relamping costs, safety
risks and energy costs over traditional
HID systems.

DESIGN PRACTICES
Lighting design for billboards,
facades, panels and signs [roadway
sign lighting] normally follows
published guidelines and design
practices as defined by the
Illuminating Engineering Society of
North America [IESNA]. IESNA
publishes recommended guidelines
to help facilitate sign lighting to
ensure the safety of the traveling
public. The following guidelines for
spacing were developed within the
parameters of the IESNA recommended
practices.
