Site Prep Tool

INTRODUCTION

The site prep tool is a small application that is designed to run on the customer PC with the purpose of evaluating the system and determine if it meets the necessary hardware and software requirements before installing any Agilent LSCA software products like ChemStation or

EZChrom.

The tool is a self-contained package that should not interact or interfere with the operation of any other customer applications, however, the tool does require that .NET framework 2.0 be installed.

In the example below we can see the information gathered by the tool together with the expected results.

The tool can automatically detect most PC components, however, it may not be able to determine if they are appropriate for the software being installed. Therefore, any item that cannot be verified is highlighted in yellow with a “Warning” and will require a manual check.

A failed status will be highlighted in red.

Often a failed status may simply require a change in the software configuration setting. In the example below the Firewall was not enabled and therefore the security details failed. A simple firewall configuration change can be done in the operating system in order to meet Agilent requirements.
