MTEMC Decorative Street Lighting
General Requirements
1. Please consult with an MTEMC engineer or representative
before purchasing material or beginning construction on any
streetlight installation.
2. MTEMC will provide information on approved fixtures,
foundation designs and locations of pullboxes and conduits.
3. The developer shall request an appointment for a ditch/conduit
inspection before ditches are closed.
4. The developer shall request an appointment for a foundation
inspection before concrete is poured.
5. A final inspection will be performed before lights are connected
to the MTEMC system.
6. An approved dual element HPS lamp must be installed in each
fixture. Installations will not be energized if non-approved
lamps are used. Approved lamps are listed below.
70 Watt HPS

7. An approved twistlock photo control must be installed with each
fixture. Installations will not be energized if non-approved photo
controls are used. Approved photo controls are listed below.

8. An approved fuse and fuse holder must be installed with every
fixture. Fuses should be located in the base of the fixture
whenever possible. Installations will not be energized if nonapproved fuses are used. Approved fuses and fuse holders are
listed below.

9. The developer shall be responsible for pulling all conductors
and making all connections except those connections at the
distribution transformer.

MTEMC will connect approved installations only.
Installations should be built in accordance with drawing SLC-1.
Foundations should be built according to the provided
foundation detail drawing of each type of light.
