ETSA Utilities Training Services is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), providing a diverse selection of quality programs designed to meet industry requirements for vocational education and training. ETSA Utilities Training Services is the training provider to our apprentices and tradespeople in the operational fields of Powerline, Substation and Electronics. We also provide the same training services to external individuals and organisations within the industry both in South Australia and interstate. Adult learning practices are applied in both the classroom and field exercises, while subject matter experts facilitate the delivery of theory and practical training components. Successful completion is achieved through a variety of assessment methods. As one of the main contributors to the development of competency standard units for the electrical distribution and transmission sectors, ETSA Utilities has been providing training in these sectors for more than 50 years. Our first formal traineeship began in 1964 and our in-service training commenced in 1987. Accredited courses are available for the following qualifications: • Certificate III in Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) — Distribution • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician We also offer training specific to the client’s needs — meeting competency standards as a minimum while providing the framework for procedures and equipment specific to the work undertaken. Our broad suite of programs range from Plant, Tools and Equipment and Confined Space, through to Live Low Voltage, High Voltage Switching and Transmission Live Line Methods. Confined Space Entry Our training staff are highly competent and qualified tradespersons, trainers and assessors. We aim to ensure participants enjoy the training programs while building both their confidence and expertise to further enhance their performance. Transmission Work WHERE IS THE TRAINING CONDUCTED? As an RTO, our objective is to meet the diverse trade technical training needs of the electricity industry. Our accreditation also enables us to draw on established procedures being applied across various business functions, such as Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) and standard operating procedures. ETSA Utilities Training Services can host training at either our Angle Park site — on the verge of Adelaide’s CBD — or at the Davenport Training Centre outside Port Augusta. Both are equipped with fully functional electricity network systems to enable participants to apply their newly-acquired skills in a field situation under safe training conditions. Our flexibility, in terms of training locations and style of delivery, enables the best arrangements for meeting the needs of clients, and our qualified trainers and assessors draw on expansive experience while continually keeping abreast of current practices.
