The DATC is holding a RETA (Refrigeration Engineers & Technicians Association) certification class that is directed toward providing the industry with qualified operators. This is an ANSI (American National Standards Institute) accredited pro gram. This class is good for companies that do food processing, meat packing, petro chemicals, refrigerated warehousing, pharmaceuticals and air conditioning. Exams are given upon completion of each level and RETA will issue certificates for

This course covers changes in the national and state codes, including additions and deletions. It highlights the more pertinent and commonly encountered changes. This course provides the sixteen hours needed for licensees to renew their license through the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL). The State of Utah requires that any individual installing, servicing, repairing, or replacing a natural gas appliance be certified. This 24-hour class prepares students for the Nat ural Gas Technician Certification examination required by the State of Utah. Classes are taught by an RMGA certified instructor. The three-hour, open book exam is included in the cost of the class and will be administered through the
DATC testing center. Books are included in course cost.

Medical gas systems and equipment covered in the ASSE Series 6000 Standard include health care facilities within the scope of NFPA 99 Standard for Health Care Facilities. Medical gas piping systems include vacuum piping.
ASSE 6005
Medical Gas Specialist Cost: $1,000
A Medical Gas Systems Generalist certification candidate is any individual who meets the requirements of ASSE 6005.
Eligible individuals include any person with an interest in medical gas and vacuum systems and equipment who has successfully completed the required twenty four (24) hours of training covering all facets of piped medical gas and medical-surgical vacuum systems.
ASSE 6030
Medical Gas Verified Cost: $1,300
A Medical Gas Verifier certification candidate is a qualified individual who can demonstrate competence within their scope and will be proficient in and experienced in the installation, inspection, and verification of medical gas and vacuum systems covered by the ASSE Series 6000
Standard. Verifiers include any individual who tests and verifies the operation of medical gas and vacuum systems.
ASSE 6010
Medical Gas Installer & Brazer Cost: $1,050
A Medical Gas Installer certification candidate is a qualified individual who can demonstrate competence within their scope and will be proficient in and experienced in the installation of medical gas and vacuum systems covered by the ASSE Series 6000 Standard. Installers include anyone who works on or installs piping or components, including brazers.

Medical Gas Inspector Cost: $1,000
A Medical Gas Inspector certification candidate is a qualified individual who can demonstrate competence within their scope and will be proficient in and experienced in inspecting installations of medical gas and vacuum systems covered by the ASSE Series 6000 Standard.
Inspectors include any individual who inspects the installation of medical gas and vacuum distribution systems.
ASSE 6040
Medical Gas Maintenance Cost: $1,00
A Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel certification candidate is a qualified individual who can demonstrate competence within their scope and will be proficient in and experienced in the maintenance of medical gas and vacuum systems covered by the ASSE
Series 6000 Standard. A qualified Medical Gas Maintenance worker may perform such maintenance tasks alone, or through the supervision of other individuals.
