Health and Safety Representative Initial Training The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSW Act) prompted a change in the standard of training for Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs). Unit standard 29315 now replaces unit standard 20918 as the recognised industry standard for Health and Safety Representatives. HSRs will not be able to issue Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) or direct unsafe work to cease if they have not completed the approved WorkSafe New Zealand HSR Transition Training course or training awarding the approved NZQA unit standard. Safety ‘n Action’s new Initial Health and Safety Representative Training course awards unit standard 29315 which enables HSRs to meet the requirements of HSW Act. Courses are available to book now. Course Aim Safety ‘n Action's Initial Health and Safety Representative Training is designed to introduce HSRs to new concepts, such as PCBU and Officers, and enable them to successfully carry out their responsibilities according to the new Act.
