NOVEMBER 29, 2015 The Sunday Cast Net Our Mission Statement: Welcoming All. Worshipping Christ. Witnessing God’s Love. Join us for Muffin Minute, after 8:00 service Coffee Hour, after 11:00 service Bishop’s Reception _________________________ The flowers on the altar today are given to the glory of God by Jill Moore in honor of our new members ___________________ WELCOME to Old St. Andrew's on this historic and meaningful day! Today, at our 11:00 service, we welcome 36 new members into our Church family. They come from Catholic, Episcopal, Methodist, Baptist and other backgrounds. Some have never been confirmed before. All are welcomed into our Church family! In addition, today at our 9:00 Family Service, eleven children will be presented for First Communion. Old St. Andrew's continues to thrive and grow because of our faith in God and our love for each other and the world around us. We have been so blessed this year, and today we are blessed to welcome our Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Mark J. Lawrence, as our Celebrant to welcome these new members and these children. My hope and prayer is that you, too, will be moved and will be blessed by the Holy Spirit as you worship Almighty God with us today. Please also plan to be with us tomorrow night, November 30 (St. Andrew's Day), as The Rev. Jason Hamshaw is ordained as a priest and becomes a "Curate" here at Old St. Andrew's. If you come here today seeking a church home, you have found it! Again, welcome to you today! NO YOUTH GROUP TODAY ____________________ It is not too late to bring food for tomorrow’s reception. Feel free to bring a dish and take it into Gilchrist Hall before the 6:30 service. We ask that you bring the food plated and ready to go on to the table. _______________________ NEWS FROM THE CHURCH YARD… We regret to inform you that we will not be able to have our Gardener’s in Christ breakfast brunch this year. Many things have changed at the Middleton Inn, and they won’t be able to accommodate us. Hopefully, we can make different arrangements for next year. Once again it has been a wonderful year for our group. We have accomplished much, and will continue on in our mission as we care for all that the Lord has provided for us to enjoy in the beauty of the surroundings of our church. In the meantime, go and enjoy the Christmas season, remembering the reason, and we’ll gather back together in 2016. And, if you’re into making new year’s resolutions, make one to come and join us, the fellowship is wonderful! Slow down and smell the roses in the new year, starting with us.
