Wirral Joint Strategic Needs Assessment Bulletin (May 2016) ….some more useful information here Soon to be published: Diabetes Prevalence Model The diabetes prevalence model provides estimates of total (diagnosed and undiagnosed) diabetes prevalence for people aged 16 years and older in England. The model was developed using data from the latest 3 years of Health Surveys for England (HSE), 2011, 2012 and 2013. The estimates take into account the age, sex, and ethnic group distribution, as well as deprivation of the area. Estimates are provided for both the resident and registered population. Diabetes prevalence estimates have been produced by local authority, CCG and for England. Soon to be published: CVD Risk Factors Profiles These will be available for each local authority. These profiles bring together a wide range of data on the risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVD) for each local authority in England. They are for commissioners and health professionals to use when assessing the impact of CVD on their local population, opportunities for improvement and making decisions about services and emerging issues. Health Behaviours in Young People (What About YOUth?) – Summaries for local authorities ChiMat has developed a summary for each local authority of data about health behaviours in young people, based on information from the What About YOUth? Survey. The information covers general health, wellbeing, body image and BMI, bullying, diet, physical activity, ecigarettes and smoking, and drinking. The summaries are available here Government response to the consultation refreshing the public health outcomes framework (2015) This is the government response to the consultation on refreshing the 2013 to 2016 Public Health Outcomes Framework (PHOF). From April 2016 there will be 67 public health indicators which will consist of 158 indicators/sub-indicators. Access report here Cuts - the view from foster carers: the impact of austerity measures on fostered children and the families that care for them The survey of foster carers highlights the negative impact of local authority budget cuts in a number of areas, including practical and financial support for foster carers, children’s access to their social workers and other services, especially mental health services. Access survey results here A public health approach to promoting young people’s resilience: a guide to resources for policy makers, commissioners, and service planners and providers This resource from the Association for Young People’s Health (AYPH), funded by Public Health England, and developed with input from the Early Intervention Foundation, provides a new focus on public health approaches to supporting young people’s resilience. It highlights ways that services have successfully worked together, provides links to useful interventions and other resources, and draws on the perspectives of young people about what works well for them. Access resource here Ofsted regime for CCGs NHS England has set out the framework of the new assessment regime for CCGs in 2016-17. CCGs will be assessed within six clinical priorities: cancer, dementia, diabetes, mental health, learning disabilities, maternity care and will receive a rating of outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate for each. Assessment will be overseen by independent panels chaired by: Mind – mental health, Alzheimer’s Society – dementia, Cancer Research UK – cancer, Diabetes UK – diabetes, the National Maternity review chair – maternity, and the NHS Confederation chief executive and NHS England learning disability advisor – learning disabilities. The framework will also include 29 performance indicators across four domains: better health, better care, sustainability and leadership. Initial assessment of performance will be available online from June 2016, with full assessments, including information from STPs, by June 2017. Once in place, a risk-based inspection regime will be implemented, with high performing CCGs inspected every five years. This Resource has been created to help everyone seeking help and guidance concerning end of life care on Wirral, whether they are members of the public or professionals. Opinions are being sought on an ongoing basis, to help the Resource evolve and develop. Access article here Hidden voices of maternity: parents with learning disabilities speak out CHANGE and Patient Experience Network (PEN) worked together supported by NHS England to give a platform to the seldom-heard voice of parents with learning disabilities. The partners worked in collaboration to gain a better understanding of the maternity experience of care for parents with learning disabilities. Access here Preventing unintentional injury in under 15s NICE quality standard (QS107) This quality standard covers preventing unintentional injury in children and young people under 15. Access standard here Antenatal and postnatal mental health NICE quality standard (QS115) This quality standard covers the recognition, assessment, care and treatment of mental health problems in women during pregnancy and the postnatal period (up to 1 year after childbirth). It also includes providing pre-conception support and advice for women with an existing mental health problem who might become pregnant, and the organisation of mental health services needed in pregnancy and the postnatal period.
