TEACHING AND WORKING METHODS:
At the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, student-centred and problem-based
learning is the foundation of education. The student takes responsibility for, processes and
explores the educational content in question. The teaching methods challenge students to
independently formulate questions for learning, to seek knowledge and to engage in
dialogue with other students, assess and evaluate the achieved knowledge. Students work
together in groups on the basis of realistic situations to develop their own learning, helping
fellow students' learning and to practice cooperation. The teacher's role is to support
students in this approach.
Working methods in this course consist of tutorial groups, large group seminars, lectures and
self-study.
EXAMINATION:
Students' attendance and active participation in tutorial groups and large group seminars is
mandatory to pass. The examination format is a case-based individual written home exam.
Scope of retake examination:
The times for retake examinations will be set at the start of every semester. The scope of the
retake examination will be the same as the regular examination.
Change of examiner:
A student who has obtained a failing grade twice for a course or a part of a course is, upon
request, entitled to be appointed another examiner, unless there are special reasons to the
contrary.
