The Evaluative Quality Assurance Framework (EQAF):
• uses evaluation to reach evidence-based judgements
• focuses on outcomes and key contributing processes
• uses organisational self-assessment to drive
improvement
• is built on principles
– High trust, high accountability - Quality as a dynamic concept
– A practical focus on outcomes - Strategic and needs-based
– Flexibility
Strong, flexible quality assurance
Mātauranga Māori Evaluative
Quality Assurance (MM EQA)
Recognising programmes and qualifications based on mātauranga Māori
NZQA has developed MM EQA processes to reflect programmes and
qualifications based on mātauranga Māori.
MM EQA uses Māori evaluative approaches and principles to evaluate
mātauranga Māori learning or teaching methods.
MM EQA is being integrated into all the quality assurance processes.
