The Evaluative Quality Assurance Framework The Evaluative Quality Assurance Framework (EQAF): • uses evaluation to reach evidence-based judgements • focuses on outcomes and key contributing processes • uses organisational self-assessment to drive improvement • is built on principles – High trust, high accountability - Quality as a dynamic concept – A practical focus on outcomes - Strategic and needs-based – Flexibility Strong, flexible quality assurance Mātauranga Māori Evaluative Quality Assurance (MM EQA) Recognising programmes and qualifications based on mātauranga Māori NZQA has developed MM EQA processes to reflect programmes and qualifications based on mātauranga Māori. MM EQA uses Māori evaluative approaches and principles to evaluate mātauranga Māori learning or teaching methods. MM EQA is being integrated into all the quality assurance processes. New Zealand makes global connections New Zealand qualifications incorporate transnational: • awards • qualifications • conventions • standards. Here are three examples… City & Guilds New Zealand Diploma in Cookery (Advanced) (Level 5) with strands in Cookery and Patisserie [Ref: 2102] Students enrolled in NZ2102 New Zealand Diploma in Cookery (Advanced) (Level 5) Patisserie strand have the opportunity to complete: • City & Guilds 8065-04 Advanced Diploma in Food Preparation and Cookery (Supervision) • City & Guilds 8065-03 Diploma in Food Preparation and Cooking (Patisserie) International seafaring New Zealand Certificate in Maritime Operations (Level 5) [Ref: 2512] Graduates will meet the requirements of International Convention on Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping for Fishing Vessel Personnel (STCW-F) and Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW). They are set and administered by the International Maritime Organization, a United Nations agency. Technician level (International Engineering Alliance) New Zealand Diploma in Engineering with strands in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering [Ref: 2612] Graduates will be capable of operating at a technician level scope of practice as outlined by the Dublin Accord (International Engineering Alliance, 2002).
