Solutions to meet CSA Z462 requirements
Electrical safety program development
•A properly designed and implemented electrical safety program is the starting point for a company’s electrical safety-related efforts.
•Our professionals will work with you to develop a comprehensive electrical safety program (ESP).
•The ESP sets the policy, establish responsibilities, and defines procedures to properly protect the workers.
Arc flash analysis
•An arc flash analysis provides the basis for your facility’s electrical safety program by identifying arc flash exposure levels at all points in
your electrical system.
•We recommend methods to mitigate arc flash hazard exposure and reduce unacceptable incident-energy levels.
•Ideally, the arc flash analysis should be completed at the time of equipment installation. It can be performed in conjunction with the
analysis of the balance of the facility’s distribution system.
Power System Analytical Studies
Protective device time-current coordination analysis
•A coordination analysis is performed to provide power equipment with the required protection and minimize service interruption under
overload or short circuit conditions. This analysis evaluates an electrical system’s protective devices including relays, fuses, circuit
breakers, and the equipment to which they are applied.
•Our final report includes suggested settings for all adjustable devices as well as composite time-current characteristic curves which
illustrate the resulting protection and system coordination.
•The optimal time frame to have a coordination analysis completed is prior to new equipment being shipped to the job site.
Short circuit analysis
•This study calculates fault-current levels throughout your electrical network to determine if the electrical equipment can withstand worstcase events.
•We identify underrated equipment and make recommendations to reduce high fault-current levels and comply with industry codes and
standards.
•The optimal time frame to have a short circuit analysis completed is prior to the release for equipment manufacture.

Consulting Studies
We can help you identify potential equipment issues and associated corrective actions, reduce energy costs, optimize equipment
utilization and improve reliability of your system.
Energy STEP (Energy Sustainability Tiered Efficiency Program)
The EnergySTEP program is designed to help you spot opportunities for saving energy and taking action.
Automation Audit (M2C)
An in-depth automation analysis that evaluates your current systems and processes to create a roadmap for making the best decisions
for your investment in equipment, software, people, processes and training. A solid foundation for guiding and justifying your operational
spending.
Electrical Distribution Assessment (MP4)
Electrical distribution equipment is subject to degradation due to age, environmental stresses, and heat. An MP4 study will help you
understand the strengths and weaknesses of the installation and equipment; major risks according to process/business needs; and
solutions to manage the risks and optimize performance.
Power Quality Analysis
Our experts will document the symptoms, examine damaged equipment, assess the power and grounding in the area, collect data
using temporary monitors, and develop a report of findings that identifies the most probable cause. The report will include cost-effective
mitigation recommendations to prevent future occurrences of the problem.
Electrical Safety Solutions
Arc flash analysis
An arc flash hazard analysis must be updated when a major renovation or modification takes place.
At a minimum, it should be reviewed every five years because changes in the electrical distribution system could affect the results of the
arc flash hazard analysis.
Arc flash reduction technologies
Includes addition of virtual main, light sensing relay technology, and zone selective interlock systems.
Substation Solutions
Schneider Electric serves utilities and industrial facilities with industry-leading products and services. We have the resources to meet all
aspects of your substation remodeling, and/or expansion needs.
When it comes to your electrical
infrastructure, the answer is
