This was the first electric traffic light in Syracuse. CrouseHind’s first traffic light installation in the United States was in Houston, Texas, in February of 1921. Its factory, now part of the Eaton Corp., is at the corner of Wolf Street and 7th North Street. Crouse-Hinds was also responsible for making the now famous upside-down traffic light on Tipperary Hill. Syracuse’s first traffic light.
