I would like to request the following information under the terms
of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002:

The total number of secondary schools in the local authority.
There are 6 secondary schools in East Lothian.

The total number of new Highers/National 6 qualification
courses that the local authority plans to provide in its schools,
broken down by subject, in the academic year 2014/15. i.e. if all
nine schools in the local authority are offering the new Higher
English course that would be nine new Higher English courses. If
only one school is offering the new Higher Modern Studies course
that would be one new Modern Studies course.

The total number of existing Higher courses that the local
authority plans to provide in its schools, broken down by subject,
in the academic year 2014/15. i.e. if all nine schools in the local
authority are offering the existing English course that would be
nine existing Higher English courses. If only one school is offering
the existing Higher Modern Studies course that would be one
existing Modern Studies course.

Existing Higher subjects:
English and Mathematics - for S6 pupils only who fail Higher course in diet 2014 or who
have followed Int 2 course - depends on numbers
Human Biology, Personal Development,
Product Design - no uptake for this in S4 this year, so repeated for those further up the
school who want to crash or resit - dependent on numbers
