Technical Sales Support Specialist Position Overview The Intellimeter Technical Sales Specialist will be the primary technical resource for the sales force. They will be a key point of contact for clients and provide both pre- and after-sales advice. The Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for actively driving and managing the technical evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor for our products. The Technical Sales Specialist will combine their technical knowledge with sales skills to provide customer quotations, advice and support on a range of products. The Technical Sales Specialist must be able to translate customer requirements into quotations and proposals, articulate the technical aspects of our solutions and product positioning to both business and technical users. The Technical Sales Specialist must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. They are also expected to be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. They liaise regularly with other members of the sales team and colleagues from a range of departments, such as research, development, design, purchasing, production and quality, as well as senior company managers. Responsibilities Responsible to prepare all customer quotes by: • • • Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel. Identifies potential improvements in customer solutions by analyzing customer needs and then review equipment, supplies, or services that would satisfy those needs. Must be able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs Acts as the bridge between Intellimeter Sales and Projects teams and conveys customer requirements to Intellimeter Project Management and delivery teams Will provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education, and after-sales support services Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts as required The Technical Sales Specialist maybe responsible for attending and presenting products and solutions at conferences, seminars, etc. Qualifications Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in sales and knowledge of technology. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports. Strong ability to read engineered drawings including electrical single line, panel schedule, wiring diagrams and schematics to complete material take-offs from customer plans and specifications for estimating purposes Experience in developing and writing quotations and proposals Must be well organized, analytical and possess an ability to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches. Experience and familiarity with metering and electrical distribution and monitoring systems Must be proficient in using MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) A technical education (Technician or Technologist) in an electrical discipline or related field is strongly preferred 3-5+ years relevant experience in vendor sales Please send resume and cover letter to: careers@intellimeter.on.ca
