Installation and Upgrade Limitations
Issue
Description
XE-10798
When you install Data Integration Hub in a Windows operating system, if you clear all the options
in the Installation Components page and then navigate to the previous page, Installation
Directory, you cannot navigate from the Installation Directory page back to the Installation
Components page.
Workaround: Verify that at least one component is selected on the Installation Components
page before you leave the page.
XE-10575
When you upgrade to version 9.6.2 and your publication repository runs on a Microsoft SQL
Server, if partitioning was previously enabled on the repository but is disabled at the time of the
upgrade, if you re-enable partitioning after the upgrade, the partitioning function contains a
datetime data type and you cannot create topics in Data Integration Hub.
Workaround: Before you re-enable partitioning on the repository, delete all Data Integration Hub
partition functions. For example: DIH__DATE_PARTITION_FUNCTION.
XE-9809
When you install Data Integration Hub on a Windows Operating system, if you install the Data
Integration Hub client plugin for PowerCenter component and define a custom ODBC connection
string, the string, user name, and password that you define during the installation are not saved to
the plugin. When you create custom workflows, event status names are not loaded into
PowerCenter Designer.
Workaround: Take one of the following steps:
- Enter the string, user name, and password in the following file:
<DIHInstallationDir>/powercenter/pluginVERSION/dxplugin.xml
- Manually enter event status names in PowerCenter Designer.
2
XE-8373
On an existing Data Integration Hub installation where you changed your configuration files since
the installation, when you add components to Data Integration Hub using the Data Integration Hub
installer, the Data Integration Hub installer does not present the configuration data that you
modified after the original installation during the component installation.
Workaround: Verify that the data that the installer presents during component installation is
correct, and correct it if required.
XE-6870
When you install or uninstall Data Integration Hub on IBM AIX operating systems in console mode,
an error message might appear with the following text: Hostname and service name not
provided or found.
Workaround: Ignore the error message.
XE-6569
When you install Data Integration Hub on IBM AIX 6.1 operating systems, an error message might
appear with the following text: Unzip: not found.
Workaround: Ignore the error message.

Fixed Limitations
Review the Release Notes of previous releases for information about previous fixed limitations.
Issue
Description
XE-10071
The Dashboard is not supported on IBM AIX operating systems.
XE-9911
When the following settings are enabled in the dx-configuration.properties file, the
pmrep process does not end if Data Integration Hub crashes:
- pwc.pmrep.use.process.pool
- pwc.pmrep.process.pool.max
Note: To end the pmrep process, enable the system property
dih.onstartup.clean.stale.pmrepinstances.
XE-8527
The first time that you test connections in Data Integration Hub, the test might fail with an error.
Workaround: Wait one minute and then test the connection.
If the test fails after you wait a few seconds, delete the folder DIH__SYSTEM_WORKFLOWS in
PowerCenter, and then test the connection.
XE-7482
You can only use the default Data Integration Hub schema to connect to data sources and data
targets.
Workaround for Oracle databases only: If you don't want to use the default schema to which Data
Integration Hub connects, in the connection properties, append the following string to the
connection string:
ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA=<schema name>
You must define an identical schema in the following fields:
- In the Metadata Access section, in the Connection String field.
- In the Data Access section, in the Environment SQL field.
Known Limitations
CR
Description
XE-10849
For topics where the structure of a topic contains columns with a DOUBLE data type, if you open
the topic for editing in the Operation Console, when you save the topic, Data Integration Hub
regards the action as a topic structure change, regardless of whether you edit the topic or not.
Data Integration Hub deletes the data of all columns with a DOUBLE data type, and the
publications and subscriptions that are associated with the topic become not valid.
To re-validate the publications and subscriptions that are associated with the topic, after you save
the topic, run the publication or the subscription wizard for each associated publication or
subscriptions.
XE-10841
When an aggregated subscription consumes more than a thousand publications in an aggregated
mode, there might be cases where data is consumed twice.
XE-10623
The option to kill stale pmrep processes does not work on IBM AIX operating systems.
Workaround: Do not enable the system property
dih.onstartup.clean.stale.pmrepinstances on IBM AIX operating systems.
XE-10324
When you use the Run Publication Subscription web service API to run publications and
subscriptions, Data Integration Hub does not enforce data access when connecting to the source
application or to the target application.

CR
Description
XE-10292
Users that do not have view privileges for workflows cannot edit publications and subscriptions.
XE-9806
When you publish a flat file source, the name of the topic table can contain up to 77 characters.
XE-9754
Subscription runs fail when the subscription contains a filter for a column with a TEXT data type
with a Does Not Equal operator and the option Use pushdown optimization is enabled for the
subscription.
XE-9749
Data Integration Hub publication repository on a Microsoft SQL Server: If a string is longer than
the field precision of the topic table in the staging database, the string is truncated without
notification.
XE-9725
When you use Microsoft Windows authentication for a system connection, DIH__REPO or
DIH__STAGING, the wrapper.log file contains an incorrect error.
XE-9341
Failure to create an index for a topic column might require a manual intervention to fix the topic.
XE-9194
Custom delimiters that are used in flat files must be expressible as a 7-bits ASCII character. For
example, you cannot use Japanese characters as delimiters.
XE-9193
When you define the structure of the topic by extracting the table structure from a file, and when
you create a publication with a flat file source, the Data Integration Hub Operation Console shows
a preview of the file only if the file is an ASCII code page.
XE-9114
For aggregated subscriptions and for compound subscriptions, the Event Average Processing
Time report includes multiple delayed events in the calculation, and not only the aggregated event
or the compound event.
XE-9089
When you change the default data storage location on the publication repository, a warning
message appears, stating that the storage location has changed and that the topic tables will be
recreated. The topic metadata is changed and holds the new default storage location. Topic tables
are not recreated on the new storage location, and remain on the old storage location.
Workaround: Edit the topic and change the Data Storage Location to the new default data storage
location on the publication repository.
XE-9028
For publications with a publication pre-process, the Event Average Processing Time report does
not calculate the pre-processing time.
XE-8782
The Data Integration Hub command-line utilities do not work in Windows PowerShell on Windows
Server 2012.
Workaround: Use the Windows command shell to run command-line utility commands. Windows
command shell is available in the following location:
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe
4
XE-8752
Microsoft SQL database where partitioning is enabled: If the retention period of a topic is set to
one day Data Integration Hub cannot delete the topic data from the publication repository. Only
data that is older than one day is moved onto the partition.
Workaround: Set topic retention period for two or more days.
XE-8744
After you change the default file group on the Data Integration Hub staging repository, when you
edit a topic that was created before the change, a message informs you that unconsumed data
that was published from the topic will be discarded.
Topics that existed before you changed the default file group continue to publish to the file group
that was the default group when the topic was created. Changing the default file group does not
discard unconsumed data that was published before the change.

Description
XE-8625
When you delete from the PowerCenter repository a connection that Data Integration Hub created
in the PowerCenter repository, Data Integration Hub does not re-create the PowerCenter
connection when you test or save the connection in Data Integration Hub.
Workaround: In the Data Integration Hub Connections page change an option in the connection,
save the connection, change the option to the original value, and save the connection. For
example: Change the value of the Connection Retry Period, save the connection, change the
value of the Connection Retry Period to the original value, and save the connection.
XE-8524
When you export a publication from a Data Integration Hub machine and then import the
publication to a Data Integration Hub machine with a different source structure, or when you
export a subscription from a Data Integration Hub machine and then import the subscription to a
Data Integration Hub machine with a different target structure, Data Integration Hub retains the
structure of the exported source or target during import. When you run a publication or a
subscription with an incompatible structure, the publication or the subscription either fails or writes
data that is not be valid.
For example: On a Microsoft SQL Server, if you export a publication from a machine where the
source structure is a table with the columns A and B, and import the publication into a machine
where the source structure is a table with the columns B and A.
Workaround: Edit the data structure of the imported publication or subscription and then run it.
XE-8374
Data Integration Hub does not support the dxProhibitReprocess event attribute. Data Integration
Hub reprocesses subscriptions when the attribute is set.
XE-8333
When you use a database password that ends with the # character, Data Integration Hub enters
the password into the PowerCenter connection without the # character.
XE-8182
The publication fails when all the following conditions exist:
- The data source is DB2.
- The publication contains BLOB or 'VARCHAR FOR BIT DATA data types.
- There is a NULL value in the binary column of the source table.
XE-8068
Data Integration Hub does not support versioned PowerCenter repositories.
XE-8058
When you install Data Integration Hub with Informatica domain authentication and the
PowerCenter Web Services Hub, you must specify the same machine for both components.
XE-7923
When you delete an event attribute with dependent objects, unsupported B2B Data Exchange
objects might appear in the confirmation message.
XE-7907
When you install Data Integration Hub in console mode, you cannot type Back in the
PowerCenter Location section.
Workaround: Exit and restart the installation.
XE-7900
On Data Integration Hub repositories that run on a Microsoft SQL Server, when a user deletes a
publication, other users cannot complete the creation of new publications. When a user deletes a
subscription, other users cannot complete the creation of new subscriptions.
XE-7877
When you add a topic table from a Microsoft SQL Server database connection, the topic table
names cannot contain square brackets.
XE-7765
If you do not use a precision license, and you publish from a Microsoft SQL Server database
source, MAX values of MONEY and SMALLMONEY data types might be converted to a value that
is higher or lower than the values that the Microsoft SQL Server database target supports. This
results in a publication error.
XE-7656
The Data Integration Hub Operation Console lists event-types that are relevant for B2B Data
Exchange.

Description
XE-7442
Publications and subscriptions might fail with the following error after you edit them:
"Error: Folder [ID=xx] not found".
Perform one of the following workarounds:
- After the publication or subscription fails, you must restart the PowerCenter Repository Service.
- To avoid the failure, disable Repository Agent Caching in the PowerCenter Repository Service properties before you
edit the publication or the subscription.
XE-7305
When all the child events of a publication are a Discarded status, the Consumption Status of the
parent event is empty and not Discarded.
XE-7247
When you use Data Integration Hub with Informatica platform authentication, user synchronization
fails if you change the case of a user name in the Informatica domain. For example, if you
changed the user name from JohnSmith to johnsmith, the Informatica domain handles the
updated user name as a new user account. However, Data Integration Hub handles the updated
user name as a duplicate user account.
Workaround:
1.
2.
3.
4.
XE-7190
Remove the user from the Informatica domain security group.
Synchronize users with Data Integration Hub. The synchronization deletes the user account from Data Integration Hub.
Add the user account to the Informatica domain security group.
Synchronize users with Data Integration Hub. The synchronization adds the updated user account to Data Integration
Hub.
To change the Data Integration Hub server RMI port number on a Windows operating system, you
must change the port number in both copies of the dx-configuration.properties file and in the
wrapper.conf file. For more information about changing default port numbers, see the Data
Integration Hub Installation and Configuration Guide.
