POSITION:
APPLICATION ENGINEER - Inside Sales Representative
Responsible for inside sales and application engineering support for outside sales team including
design product/system selection and costing of proposals, to ensure optimal system performance on a
cost effective basis
WORK LOCATION:
Bakersfield, CA
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist outside sales reps with customer proposals;
• Provide technical assistance to the distribution system and customers;
• Create Bill of Material with detailed instructions for manufacturing process, specification for packaging, external supplier
specifications and detailed cost information;
• Handle select incoming sales inquiries related to troubleshooting issues and process questions;
• Assist in establishing standard products for all skid/system product categories;
• Assist in developing procedural documents for all skid/system based products;
• Oversee transition of customer orders between Sales and Operations Departments;
• Advise and consult with Sales Department on prospects and ongoing projects including technical support, costing and
product/systems recommendations;
• Perform product roll-out and customer training related to product launch/installation;
• Assist in vendor management, including vendor evaluation;
• Review, evaluate and provide recommendations regarding specific customer specification packages;
• Obtain quotes/bids and evaluate alternative vendors to support sales activities;
• Achieve in-depth knowledge of all Mazzei products/systems and applications;
• Assume other assignments as directed by Vice President of Sales.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
› Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering major required;
› Minimum of 2 years in water/wastewater industry manufacturing, product management, application engineering or
purchasing responsibilities preferred.
• SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
› Strong technical knowledge;
› Work independently subject to general management direction;
› Knowledge of product costing/accounting software.
