Hello Students –
Nu Rho Psi decided to extend the membership drive – as they really didn’t have a very good location for
it (darn all this construction!!!). That said, there will be a General Body meeting held this week. If you
are applying, or have applied, please attend the meeting to see what it is all about. We would like to
welcome all of the new and returning members. This is an organization that plays a crucial role in both
the Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology Programs.
The Career Services office is busy this week with their Career Fair. There has been a lot of restructuring
of this very important office to be sure that we are preparing you for your life after Hopkins. Be sure to
check the information below.
At this point, new majors should have already met or at least made an appointment to see their faculty
advisors. If you have not done so – what are you waiting for???
Hopefully there are a few of you out there who are tapping into your creative juices to come up with a
new T-Shirt design. Designs are due next week. We are all counting on you.
Have a GREAT week!!!

DAVID S. OLTON RESEARCH
AWARD
The David S. Olton Award is given annually to support undergraduate
research in the area of the biology of behavior, broadly defined. The
award is $2,500. This award is designed to help students complete a
project of their own that they might not otherwise be able to carry out
due to financial limitations. Therefore, the award can potentially cover
a wide range of costs including stipend support (either during the
academic year or the summer) or equipment and/or supplies essential
to the project.
Applications should include:
• A short proposal (approximately 2 to 3 pages, including
references)
• A letter of support from their research sponsor (in a sealed
enveloped signed by the sponsor across the back, with the
student’s name on the front)
• A budget with justification
• A 1-page summary of research and course experience relevant
to the project
• An unofficial transcript
Application Information HERE . The deadline for submission is
October 21st.
Email Hope Fisher for any additional questions.
