IMPORTANT PROCEDURES FOR RECORDING MARKS ON ULSTER UNIVERSITY COURSE RESULTS SHEETS
Marks must be recorded, in ink, on the Ulster University Course Results Sheets. All Course Results Sheets MUST be signed and dated for each year group.
The following guidelines should be strictly adhered to:
1
Ensure that the coursework/examination weighting is correct as per information submitted in the course document or CA3 form (ref List of Modules).
2
Only whole numbers to be recorded against a module and not numbers containing decimal points.
3
Examples of how to record marks: Marks should be expressed as percentages, that is, if a module has both a coursework and examination element, each element should
be marked out of 100%. Therefore, if a module has a weighting of 50% coursework and 50% examination, and the coursework mark to be entered is 60 and the
examination mark to be entered is 40, the University Examinations Marks System will automatically calculate the overall total mark to read as 50. The marks should be
represented as: CW

When a photocopy of the Course Results Sheet is submitted, with mark amendments, on or after the Board of Examiners which are already entered on the Course Results
Sheet, these must be made using red ink, circled or the amended mark recorded clearly underneath the component and authorised by the Course Director. Any change
affecting the decision of the Board must be authorised and signed by the Chair. Only then will the amendment be made on the Student Record System. Amendments
made to marks following the Board of Examiners should be forwarded immediately to the Collaborative Courses Unit.
5
Marks cannot be entered on the Student Record System for 2015/16 if a current module CRN is not recorded against a student’s record. This also applies to first
sits/resits. Please contact the Collaborative Courses Unit immediately with the Module Code and the current CRN (5 Digit Code) for this Academic Year or if you require a
current List of Modules for your programme.
6
Copies of signed and dated University Course Result Sheets must be returned within one week, following Boards of Examiners, to the Collaborative Courses Unit either by
email (Password Protected) to CCU@ulster.ac.uk or by post to the CCU, Block 1D10, Jordanstown Campus so that decisions and marks can be entered into the
University Student Record System. The Course Director must retain a copy of the Ulster University Course Results Sheets.
