RIGHT MAN, WRONG AGE
THURS 15 SEPT 8pm

Are you 16-years-old, yet feel 21? Are you 40, but tragically faking
25? Or maybe you’re full-on 80 years, with the heart of three oxen
and the sex drive of a bonobo chimp. Don’t worry: this is normal.
No one is ever the ‘right’ age - it’s is the beauty and the curse of
being a real person.

eclipse at the wholesale flower

In this brand new show, Russell Kane unleashes another
blisteringly-funny, award-winning stand-up performance about
growing up and growing down.
Multi-award winning comedian Russell Kane is best known as
the host of three series of Live At The Electric (BBC3), regular
appearances on Live At Apollo (BBC1), Celebrity Juice and I’m A

commentated on it every step of the way, and who better for Henry to pass on his pearls of wisdom to

Expect the sprinkler, expect red trousers, and expect to be laughing but keep your wits about you

SWAN LAKE
SAT 15 OCT 7.30pm
SUN 16 OCT 2.30pm & 7.30pm
£15/£6 registered unemployed
£24/£22 conc
Jeremy Hardy is in his 4th decade as a stand-up
this year. That’s a more dramatic way of saying he
started 32 years ago and, without a lottery win,
probably has at least another 32 years to go.
A compelling legend of tragic romance, with music by Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky, a princess turned into a
swan by an evil curse… Will Prince Siegfried’s love prove strong enough to save her?
Jeremy is well known for his appearances on
The News Quiz and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue.
Indeed, Alan Bennett recently said he likes him
‘but he’s only on the radio’.
However, Jeremy isn’t only on the radio, with his
television credits including QI, Mock The Week
and Grumpy Old Men (all BBC).
presented by The Russian State Ballet and Opera House
The story is woven around two girls, Odette and Odile who resemble each other so closely they can
easily be mistaken for the other. Prince Siegfried immediately falls in love with the White Swan princess,
Odette (a swan by day but a young lady at night). However, Odette is under a magic spell and can
only be saved by a man who declares her as his first and only love. Once this promise is made, she
can be set free.
He promises his eternal love to Odette but unfortunately he is tricked by Von Rothbart, who casts a
spell to make him fall in love with his daughter, Princess Odile (also known as the Black Swan), who
closely resembles his love Princess Odette. Under a spell and mesmerised by her beauty, the prince
forgets Odette and promises his love to Odile…

THE BILLY JOEL SONGBOOK
performed by Elio Pace and his band
FRI 21 OCT 7.30pm
£23.50/£21 conc
Following on from his highly-acclaimed reunion
concerts in the USA with Billy Joel’s original
touring band, Elio Pace delivers this sensational
tour celebrating the phenomenal music of Billy
Joel.
Join German Comedy Ambassador Henning
Wehn for an evening of Teutonic jolliness at its
best. After his last show tackled those well-known
staples of light entertainment that are the British
obsession with home ownership and the
self-serving nature of most fundraising efforts,
this time Henning’s having an unbiased look at
immigration.
Featuring the massive hits, Uptown Girl, Just The
Way You Are and My Life as well as fan favourites
such as Scenes From An Italian Restaurant,
Goodnight Saigon and Piano Man.
He also wonders, if, generally speaking, people
are competent. Luckily in his case this doesn’t
matter as either he’s funny or he lives up to a
national stereotype...
Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to
experience The Billy Joel Songbook in this
electrifying concert performed by the dynamic
singer/songwriter and piano-player, Elio Pace.

experience of working the land in his native
California. This masterpiece remembers the
travelling homeless workers, and becomes an
homage to human loneliness and the necessity
for kindness in terrible conditions.
Here we have Lewis Carroll. This young Oxford
mathematics Don wrote the little book for the
daughter of his Dean, Alice Liddell and her
two sisters and it has never been out of print.
Carroll adored puzzles, so come and enjoy
what it was really about!
This is a chance to examine Orwell’s satire on
Russian politics. What is Orwell saying about
human nature, power, ‘absolute power’ and
why does it still matter today? And why was it
so hard for him to get it published?
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of
Charlotte’s birth we will examine her best
known novel, Jane Eyre, wondering why would
a simple ‘Mills and Boon’ type plot...a poor
heroine marrying her rich aristocratic boss...
mean so much to so many?
Come and celebrate the wisest, cleverest of
men; one who fell from being the most famous
playwright in the world, the darling of society,
to the most vilified. This play took him only 3
weeks to write, is still on stage, somewhere in
the world, every day of every year.
Tea & coffee shall be available as part of this event
Room: Council Chamber (all unreserved seating)
