HOW TO USE SUNFOCUS DURING BROAD DAYLIGHT Place the SunFocus solar electric oven in an area where there will be total unobstructed sunshine. Start by pointing the front of the SunFocus in the direct of the sun. (East in the morning, south at noon, west in the afternoon). Open up the SunFocus and adjust the back mirror reflector ensuring that all the reflected sunlight’s reflection angles squarely into the blackened cooking chamber. You do not want the reflector’s reflection being rebounded outside of this oven cooking chamber area, as this will decrease the ovens efficiency. For best results preheat the SunFocus solar electric cooking oven for 20 to 25 minutes before placing your food inside the cooking chamber. Always keep the double pane glass lid closed while preheating. The final cooking times will depend upon intensity of sunlight, surrounding air temperature, type, quantity and moister content of food being cooked. You will not need to constantly baby-sit the SunFocus solar electric oven, if there is enough sunlight to cast a shadow the SunFocus will slowly cook your food but you will occasionally have to reposition the SunFocus to keep up with the sun's movement across the sky. And if, the sky clouds over while you are cooking, do not panic, just plug in the SunFocus's to any standard 120v outlet and keep cooking your meal until done. PRECAUTION: NEVER operate the SunFocus solar electric cooking oven in the rain. DIRECTIONS FOR USE STEP 1: It is recommended for first time use to preheat the oven for 30 minutes. Occasionally opening the ovens glass-cooking chamber to vent as the heating pad and as the interior black coating comes up to full temperature and cure. STEP 2: Unplug the oven and then open the glass to allow the oven to cool. Once the oven has cooled to ambient temperature clean the interior surfaces with a mild solution of soap and water. Then dry with a paper towel. Your SunFocus solar electric oven is now ready to be use. Should you decide to use only the SunFocus as just a solar oven we recommend you preheat the oven by exposing it to sun for 20 to 25 minutes for preheating purposes before use. Should you decide to use only the SunFocus as just an electrical oven simple plug the power cord into the side to the oven case socket, then plug the other end of the power cord into any standard 120v outlet receptacle. Switch the ovens on switch to the ON position. Preheat for 25 minutes before use for best results. For best results use as little water as necessary when cooking. Keep cooking pans or dishes covered while cooking. Safety Precaution Statement: Opening the DGL (Double Glass Lid) continually once the food is placed inside for cooking is not recommended. However, should you need to lift the DGL lid for any reason, think safety first, wear a potholder over the opening hand and carefully open up the DGL to slowly allow any trapped steam to escape in a slow & safe manner Do not lean over the front of DGL lid while steam is escaping. Should you view droplets forming on the inside of the DGL (Double Glass Lid) this is an indication of trapped steam and that your food is cooking. When you have determined that the meal is ready just remove your pans or dishes following the above safety precautions. Always use a potholder when removing hot pans or dishes. Solar electric cooking times will vary… be patient. (summer/faster - winter/longer). Do not forget to prepare the cooking chamber for its next use by cleaning the chamber with a damp sponge or cloth after the cooking chamber has completely cooled.
