Welcome Message Dear Colleagues, We cordially invite you to join the 3rd Asia-Pacific Joint Conference on Problem-Based Learning (APJC-PBL), which will be organized and hosted by the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand. It is the great honor for our faculty to hold this conference for the second time. The first one, named the 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on PBL, was held 10 years ago. The general goal of the 3rd APJC-PBL is to become an international meeting point for PBL educators in the Asia-Pacific region with the aim of facilitating the reflection upon and the exchange of ideas and experiences related to the research and support of PBL educational development i n d i ff e re n t d i s c i p l i n e s a n d b a s e d o n d i ff e re n t backgrounds. As you all may agree, we still encounter various difficulties in implementing PBL in the schools and institutions of this region. The theme of the 3rd APJC-PBL will be, PBL: Past, Present and Prospect, which will focus on the evolution of PBL over time, updates on the PBL situation in the Asia-Pacific context, and the destination and prospects of PBL. The sharing of practices related to PBL from different contexts will be most valuable for the rethinking of the quality of learning and teaching based on this educational strategy. The conference program comprises: keynote addresses, symposia, parallel sessions of oral presentations/short communications, thematic poster and E-poster sessions, debate sessions, and pre-conference workshops. Widely known as a world-leading tourist attraction, Phuket offers a large variety of world class facilities and a wealth of natural beauty that includes white sandy beaches and the turquoise blue sea of the Andaman coast, as well as an inspiring culture.
