The Organisation
Western Renewable Energy is a specialist in hydropower, operating throughout the South West and
nationwide. We can offer services to potential developers and land owners from initial feasibility studies,
through design and construction, to operational support and maintenance.
The Position
Owing to continued high demand for its services, the company is now seeking to recruit a Civil Engineer
to fill a permanent post working within our small, friendly team on hydro scheme design.
The Postholder will be a Key Member who will:
o Provide technical input to feasibility studies for new installation proposals.
o Planning design and detailed design of hydro schemes.
o Oversee installations carried out by sub-contractors, with feedback to clients.
o Liaise with clients and developers in person, by phone and via email.
o Deal directly with relevant authorities regarding planning and approval aspects of projects.
o Contribute to project documentation and provide reports on status, risks, finances, health & safety
and plans.
o Attend meetings, seminars and conferences representing WRE Ltd.
To be successful in this role you will have:
o At least 5 years Civil Engineering experience.
o Project Management experience.
o Excellent IT and mathematical skills.
o Good interpersonal and planning skills.
o Full UK driving licence and own car.
Location: Ponsworthy, Dartmoor, Devon. Travel as required throughout the UK.
Contract: Position available immediately. Permanent after a 3 month probationary period. 40 hours a
week with flexible working hours..
Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
