2015 / 2016 LEP is pleased to announce its 2015/16 Training Programme... LEP is pleased to announce its 2015/16 training programme that continues to address the challenges facing social housing tenants and providers. In response to the on-going difficult financial climate we will build on our previous money management training and also run an updated course about Universal Credit and the other welfare benefits reforms. We have designed a number of new courses: in response to the October 2014 ASB Act, about dealing with challenging or vulnerable people and about getting young people involved. We are also running again our course on housing law as this is very popular with staff and residents. Our 2015/16 training programme aims to meet the needs and staff and residents by delivering courses that cover a wide range of areas that effect social housing today and that will assist housing providers and their tenants in achieving service improvements that are tenant-led and represent value for money. A group of housing associations and local authorities that have decided to pool their resources to co-fund a joint programme of learning. The programme will develop the skills, confidence and abilities of residents, staff and service users so that they can play a full part in developing better services within each organisation. It is also designed to encourage positive joint working between staff and residents. The programme will be delivered by PEP, a national, notfor-profit company working with statutory and voluntary agencies, and local communities to improve services and make sure they meet the needs of local people. Taken together, the three housing associations and one local authority manage more than 50,000 homes across the East and West Midlands. All LEP courses start at 10am and you can register from 9.30am onwards. The courses finish at 3.45pm. Lunch is provided.
