season that is right around the corner. I hope you’ll join me in
an exciting year with some different courses and some old
favorites. I hope to see everyone on March 19th at our first

Please remember to check our club’s eClubhouse site (http://www.ghin.com/) each
month for club news, tournament info and pairings, scores, etc. The mobile app version
of GHIN.com doesn’t allow access to the eClubhouse site, so use your use the URL
and sign in as an egolfer. At the bottom of the “myGame” box (upper right hand
corner), the “Woodcroft Golf Club” should be automatically filled in as the eClubhouse,
so just hit “Go”. To register as an egolfer, you’ll need your GHIN# and this link:
http://www.ghin.com/egolfer/register.aspx . Any board member can provide you your
GHIN # to get started.

Minutes of 2016 Annual WGC Meeting: The 2016 WGC annual meeting was held on

Board Election: As chair of the Nominating Committee, Darryl Wolford announced that he had received responses
from a sufficient number of our WGC members to approve the slate of Board nominees. The same Board members
from 2015 are returning in 2016. Their contact info and responsibilities are posted in each NL along with the monthly
outing info. Lenny Walsh and Dave Tinker were asked to continue co-chairing the Handicap Committee.
Annual Budget for 2015: Chris Rook presented the annual budget for 2015. The Net Balance at the start of 2015 was
$5,441.75. Annual dues for 2015 totaled $1940, tournament costs netted -$1481 (b/o subsidies for tournament prizes
and meals), 2015 expenses totaled to $1,596.35 (CGA dues, annual awards), netting a balance of $4,304.40 for the
end of 2015. The club’s fund balance was reduced by a total of $1,137.35. A motion was made to accept the budget
and was unanimously approved.
PayPal: Details on using PayPal to pay for monthly tournament fees is still being worked out. Our club has been
assigned a Tax ID from our bank and we are trying to get a radio button posted on our GHIN eClubhouse website.
Monthly Outing Expenses: The Board led a discussion on subsidizing the prizes for the monthly outings. The Board
has decided to maintain a fund balance of $3000 in the club’s checking account and to subsidize the prize distribution
and meals for the monthly outings by no more than $500/outing. We will continue to add $10 to the tournament entry
fees to cover prizes while also not exceeding the cost/outing beyond $50. There may be times that the entry fee may
be $55 because of choosing a premium course. We are planning to pay less spots for both the team (typically 2 or 3)
and individual (typically 3) competitions in order to award more credits to those who place in the top positions. In the
past, we have paid 3 – 4 team positions and up to 6 individual positions depending on the turnout.
For now the club will not charge for skins, but will continue to review the amount that we subsidize for each tournament
over the course of the season. As our fund balance reaches the $3000 limit, we will then review whether or not to
lower our subsidized amount, increase our monthly tournament fees, ask members to pay for skins, and/or increase
our annual $40 membership fee.
Tournament Pairings: The club has always strived to promote social interaction amongst its members by random
pairings during tournaments, coupled with USGA rules for assigning strokes. While guests are always paired with their
sponsor, we have also honored special requests for member pairings. Requests for member pairings should be
limited to a two-some.
2016 Tournaments: Don shared potential dates and locations for our monthly tournaments that corresponded with the
list from the January NL. The dates and locations for all monthly tournaments, excluding the 2-day, have been
finalized and are posted at the top of this NL. Start times and costs for some tournaments will be posted at a later
date.
Raffles: All attendees were included in several raffle drawings. Russell Walker, Joe Gucker and Darryl Wolford all
won $25 gift cards from Dick’s. Bill McGee, Mike Conway, Doug Noell and Lenny Walsh all won a sleeve of Titleist
golf balls.
March Outing at Falls Village GC: Our first outing for 2016 will be held at the Falls Village GC in Durham on March

19 with a shotgun start at 12 Noon. The signup deadline is Friday, March 11 . The cost is $50 for members and $55
for guests. Skins are covered in the tournament entry fee. The tournament entry form is in the Appendix. You can
email Chris Rook with your intent to play, noting tee selection and payment method – credits or check. If a PayPal
option is finalized, we’ll announce the details of how to use this service for payment

resolve those with Chris at the time you renew your 2016 membership or prior to any tournament registration. Any
credits owed to a non-member that has not been claimed for one year will be returned to the general WGC fund.
These credits are as of 12/31/15, so should not include any membership renewals for 2016, but any end of season
credits – Myrtle Beach prizes, Club Championship winnings, Most Improved Golfer winners and Golfer of the Year
winnings – are included. These credits will be recapped in a future NL.
