The high voltage option for DI500/510 Series instruments makes it
possible to connect analog voltage
inputs as high as 1000 volts directly to
some DI-500/510 Series instruments.
The high voltage option uses a series
of resistors built into the instrument
mainframe to divide the high voltage
analog input signal down to a level
within the measurement range of the
DI-5B40-1042 signal conditioning
module.
Features
Custom Configurable
The high voltage option can be easily
tailored to meet your exact needs. Simply
specify the input channel(s) you want this
option applied to and we will custom-configure a 1000:1 voltage divider for each.
No External Components
The voltage divider is internally built into
the instrument. There are no extra external
modules to transport, forget, or misplace.

High Voltage Option for DI-500 and 510 Series
A channel can be used three ways when
configured with the high voltage option:
Use it as intended to reduce a high voltage
analog input signal. The 1000:1 voltage
divider inputs will reduce a high voltage
analog signal to a level that is within the
measurement range of the DI-5B40-1042
module (±1 volt full scale).
Custom, but not Limited...
But the channel isn't limited only to high
voltage inputs. The DI-5B40-1042 signal
conditioning module, which is required for
the high voltage option, can also directly
accept a ±1V analog voltage input. With
the instrument's programmable gain
feature, measurements to ±125mV full
scale (Av = 8) are possible.

Or, ignore the voltage divider completely
and replace the DI-5B40-1042 signal
conditioning module with any other analog
voltage input, analog current input, or
linearized thermocouple input module. The
voltage divider circuitry remains in place
on the channel, but has no effect since it's
inputs are not used by any of the aforementioned modules.

please specify how many and which channels you want with this option. If no
channel numbers are specified, then the option is applied to channels in order
from lowest to highest. Other voltage divider ratios are available. Contact
