The incessant demand for increased wireless network capacity and service reliability
has driven the replacement of coaxial cabling to fiber-based architectures. Firstgeneration architectures use discrete fiber and power cables installed separately on
the tower, the main benefit of this solution is that this is the simplest technology. Unlike
discrete cabling, trunk and hybrid cabling methods involve break-out points on the
tower where individual fibers and power conductors split out from the cable to connect
to each individual RRH. Especially the hybrid fiber-power cables can provide greater
flexibility for future enhancements while potentially lowering capital expenditure and
labor costs over time.

Fiber/Power To The Antenna
We have two ways to provide the solution for FTTA/PTTA: a discrete cable being used to feed
single RRH and trunk cable for multiple RRHs solution. The main advantage of our FTTA/
PTTA solution is the ease of installation meaning that it is a space-saving, lightweight, and
compactness.

Discrete Cable Solution

Samsung's Discrete Cable Solution is single runs of fiber and power cable pairs directly from the
DU to each RRH, it could be said that this installation method is the simplest. In many RRH network
structures, the vast majority of RRHs have been supplied with discrete cables. It can be delivered as
a pre-installed solution for easy connections between the DU and RRHs.

distribution points. It is eliminating the need for multiple cable runs and reducing weight and wind

Hybrid (Optic/Power) To The Antenna
Samsung HTTA Solution dramatically simplifies and reduces the cost of upgrade or replacement
of traditional base station configurations with the latest distributed base station architectures.
It provides a fluid interconnection from the Digital Unit (DU) cabinet to the Remote Radio Head
(RRH) with a factory assembled end-to-end solution of optical and fiber cables and a distribution
enclosure. It helps you lower the effort and cost of installation with minimal impact at the tower.

Type A1 is the most efficient RRH connection solution in terms of ease of installation, cost and
limited space on the mast. To simplify installations, whole solution from DU to RRH connection part is
preconnected all-in-one including distribution enclosure seamlessly.
