You are cordially invited to attend the 14th Chinese International Peptide Symposium & the 5th
Asia-pacific International Peptide Symposium (CPS2016), which will be held from July 4th to July
7th, 2016 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. The CPS-2016 is hosted by Shanghai Institute of
Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences and China Pharmaceutical University, and the
organization of the meeting is proceeding smoothly. So far more than 40 internationally wellrecognized peptide/protein scientists have been confirmed to participate in this meeting and share
their latest excellent research work. More than 300 delegates are expected to join the grand event in
the peptide society and make it wonderful, successful and fruitful. Please visit our official website at

The CPS was proposed by the Chinese scientists and other worldwide recognized scientists in
peptide-related fields. Since 1990, thirteen meetings of CPS have been successively held every two
years. Now, it has become one of the most important and influential events in the field of peptide
science all over the world.

4. Call for Abstracts
The 14th Chinese International Peptide Symposium & the 5th Asia-pacific
International Peptide Symposium, Nanjing, China Abstracts should be written in English, and submitted online to the website of the symposium
(http://www.cps-international.cn). Please visit the website of 14th CPS and download the
Abstract Format from the homepage. The abstract should be prepared according to the format
and should not exceed one page. The deadline for submitting an abstract is May 31, 2016.
5. Posters
All registrants are eligible to submit a conference poster. The poster sessions offer you a
unique opportunity to display your research work before your peers, and exchange opinions
with your fellow participants. The posters will be displayed for the duration of the event,
allowing maximum visibility of your research work. Posters must relate to the conference and
exhibition theme and should illustrate novelty of your research work. Some posters will be
selected to be as oral presentation by the Organizing Committee.
6. Awards announcement
In order to award the researchers who have achieved excellence and contributed greatly to the
basic research or application of peptide science, the 14th CPS establishes a series of awards for
the participants. The details are introduced as follows:
(1) Cathay Award (Sponsored by H. H. Liu Education Foundation)
Cathy Award is the most honored award of CPS. Its aim is to award the scientist who has
achieved excellence in the peptide science research or contributed greatly on the development
of peptide science of China. The candidates will be nominated by the International Scientific
Committee of CPS 2016.Two candidates (one civil scientist, one foreign scientist) will be
selected by the Cathy Award Committee for this award. The recipientsare required to give a
conference report.
(2) Xiaoyu Hu Memorial Award (Sponsored by Hainan Zhonghe (Group) Co., Ltd and
Hainan Zhonghe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.)
This award was established specially by CPS 2016 in commemoration of Professor Xiaoyu
Hu, who contributed greatly on the development of peptide science in China. Its aim is to
award the researchers who have achieved excellence in the basic research of peptide science.
The candidates will be nominated by the International Scientific Committee of CPS 2016.
Two candidates (one civil scientist, one foreign scientist) will be selected by the Xiaoyu Hu
Memorial Award Committee for this award. The recipients are required to give a conference
report.
(3) Peptide Application Special Award (Sponsored by Hainan Zhonghe (Group) Co., Ltd
and Hainan Zhonghe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.)
The aim of Peptide Application Special Award is to award the person who has made
outstanding contributions to the development and promotion of peptide science and industry.
The 14th Chinese International Peptide Symposium & the 5th Asia-pacific
International Peptide Symposium, Nanjing, China The candidates will be nominated by the International Scientific Committee of CPS 2016.
Only one candidate will be selected by the Xiaoyu Hu Memorial Award Committee for this
award. The recipient is required to give a conference report.
(4) Peptide Application Award (Sponsored by Hainan Zhonghe (Group) Co., Ltd and
Hainan Zhonghe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.)
The person who has achieved excellence in peptide application is eligible for this award. The
candidates will be nominated by the International Scientific Committee of CPS 2016. Only
two candidates will be selected by the Xiaoyu Hu Memorial Award Committee for this award.
The recipients are required to register and participate in symposium.
(5) Young Peptide Scientist Award (Sponsored by Hainan Zhonghe (Group) Co., Ltd and
Hainan Zhonghe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.)
Anyone under 40 years old who have achieved excellence in his/her work is eligible to apply
this award. Applicants are required to submit the application form (download from the
homepage of CPS 2016 website and fill in the Application Form.doc), resume, detailed
abstract and recommendation letters from two professors to the Local Organizing Committee
(Email: registration@cps-international.cn) of the 14th CPS before May 31, 2016. Four
candidates will be selected for this award by the Xiaoyu Hu award committee. The recipients
are required to give an oral report in the symposium.
(6) Excellent Poster Award (Sponsored by Hainan Zhonghe (Group) Co., Ltd and Hainan
Zhonghe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.)
It aims to award the participants who did excellent work in the session of poster exhibition
during the period of CPS 2016. All the participants of CPS 2016 are eligible for this award.
The candidates should take part in the session of poster exhibition and discussed with other
participants about his/her poster. 30 candidates will be selected by the International Scientific
Committee of CPS 2016 for this award, including 10 first prizes and 20 second prizes.
(7) Outstanding Student Award (Sponsored by Hainan Zhonghe (Group) Co., Ltd and
Hainan Zhonghe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.)

7. Visa Information
A valid visa is required to visit China for a foreigner. A passport valid for at least six
months is required to get a visa, participants are advised to consult the nearest Chinese
consulate for details. A single entry visa is valid for three months, and can be extended for an
additional month at the Foreigners Section of the Local Public Security Bureau if necessary.
Once in China, the participants are advised to carry their passports on them at all times for
hotel check in, booking airline tickets, and currency exchange.
