Our goal is to promote the elegance of wind power through affordable tools and training programs that challenge, engage and inspire students of all ages. Position: Education & Outreach Intern The KidWind Project is seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Education and Outreach Intern. This individual should have an interest in education, renewable energy, environmental studies, and/or physics. This semester-long internship will focus on educational outreach programming and curriculum development. The intern will gain experience working in education (both with students and teachers) while also learning about the science of renewable energy. Primary responsibilities will include: - Editing and formatting curriculum documents - Assisting in facilitating local wind energy science outreach events - Assisting in organizing local outreach events - Editing and formatting PowerPoint shows - Testing new KidWind products - Networking/communicating with local schools and teachers interested in KidWind programs - Seeking grant opportunities for KidWind programming - Provide support for KidWind trainers Qualifications: - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Experience working with K-12 students - Computer Skills: - Proficient with: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Email. Experience with Adobe creative software a plus. - Interest in renewable energy science - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Flexibility to take on various projects
