the emergence of smart grid
planning, engineers seek
to study the network as a
whole, which requires the
modeling of the secondary
distribution system. The
CYME power engineering
software allows the detailed
modeling and simulation of
any low-voltage distribution
network. With the CYME

Substation Modeling module,
the low-voltage network can
be built and shown in a distinct
view, giving the possibility to

further complicating the rest of
the distribution system view.
New report functionalities
allow the display of information
and results relevant to the
low-voltage network.

distribution network modeling
and analysis module provides
a complete and accurate
representation of the network.

medium and low voltage
system losses can be calculated

The single-phase and threephase center-tap transformer
model has been enhanced
such that connecting to either
half or full secondary voltage is
possible.
The low-voltage distribution
network can be modeled in a
distinct view or in the same
view as the feeders.

Display options will allow
the user to distinguish the
low-voltage network from
the primary network and see
where they overlap (i.e. using
the same poles).

You can also obtain a
simplified view by selecting
the devices to be shown.
Single-phase transformer centertap configuration
•
The low-voltage distribution
networks can be loaded
alone or simultaneously with
the rest of the distribution
network. Even when only
the primary or the secondary
distribution network is loaded,
the network equivalent of
the unloaded network portion
is calculated accurately and
taken into consideration for
simulations. Network losses,
equipment loading, and
contingency scenarios can all
be studied at ease.

Thanks to the CYME features,
your original distribution network
model is kept clutter-free, while
the details you need are just one
mouse-click away.
With this enhanced center-tap
transformer model, spot and
distributed load representing
each individual customer can be
connected to the center-tap as
they are in reality.
All the relevant CYME analyses
(load flow, short-circuit, load
allocation etc.) that can be
executed on the medium
voltage network will run on the
low voltage network, with the
same accuracy.
Service Drop Cables
Triplex and Quadruplex cables,
which are service drop
cables used in low-voltage
distribution network, have been
implemented to allow accurate
network modeling.
