Current Job Opportunity Summary Southface is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join our team as a Residential Sustainability Services Technical Advisor supporting the EarthCraft, LEED for Homes, National Green Building Standard and utility provider rebate/incentive programs. Strong project management skills and knowledge of low- and mid-rise multifamily construction are required. The ideal candidate will have educational or work experience in residential construction with specific knowledge related to basic building science principles and building performance standards such as EarthCraft and LEED for Homes. The primary responsibility for the Residential Sustainability Services Technical Advisor will be to manage and track projects in the EarthCraft Multifamily program. Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Tracking the environmental and energy efficiency features of projects through visual verification and documentation review Diagnostic testing including whole house infiltration and duct leakage testing Educating and supporting developers, builders and subcontractors on improving the construction practices, environmental features and energy efficiency measures that impact performance, durability and environmental responsibility of residential buildings Recording all project information and inspection notes into a database Collecting and processing information from project teams Invoicing Maintaining relationships with local and regional partners and developers Other tasks as necessary supporting the Residential Sustainability Services team Qualifications The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in building science, building construction, civil or structural engineering, architecture or related field Demonstrated efficient project management skills A high level of interest in market-based approaches to advance sustainable communities and buildings Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft programs including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; MS project or other scheduling software a plus Ability to work well independently and in a team setting Excellent oral and written communication skills Physical Requirements Performing an inspection involves extensive navigation in and around buildings and construction sites, carrying of equipment weighing 50 lbs. up flights of stairs, climbing ladders and balancing in attic spaces. Therefore, the Residential Sustainability Services Administrator must possess some physical dexterity, endurance and balance to safely and effectively accomplish this work. Hours of Work Monday through Friday 9:00AM—5:30PM. Occasional weekend or evening hours. Salary and Application Process: Salary commensurate with experience.
