NQF Ref Version 0857 Page 1 of 5 2 National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Vegetation Control) (Level 3) Level 3 Credits 83 Purpose This national certificate is awarded to people who have demonstrated competence in the basic skills and knowledge required for employment in the electricity supply industry in the vegetation control area. The qualification includes standards relating to the protection of personal safety and health; general knowledge of the electricity supply industry; communication skills; and essential work based skills. This qualification is a prerequisite for those people wishing to progress into the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Vegetation Control) (Level 4) [Ref: 0858]. Special Notes Recognition of prior learning will be carried out by accredited providers or Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation (ESITO) registered workplace assessors. Unit standards and achievement standards that are equivalent in outcome are mutually exclusive for the purpose of award. Standard 10538 was removed from the qualification. The qualification level increased from 2 to 3. For detailed information see Review Summaries on the NZQA website. All existing candidates may either complete the requirements of version 1 of the qualification or transfer to version 2. All new trainees will be enrolled in programmes leading to version 2 of the qualification. It is not intended that anyone is disadvantaged by this revision and the above arrangements have been designed for a smooth transition.
