Dear Socrates Erasmus Partner,
Gazi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences invites you to create the cooperation within
Socrates-Erasmus Programme.
Gazi University is one of the few universities whose history dates back to 1920s. 'Teacher Training Institute' was
established in 1926. In 1929 the institute was given the name 'Gazi Teacher Training Institute' and continued to
educate students under this name for many years. In the Academic year 1949-1950 the institution was given the
name 'Gazi Institute of Education'. In 1982 the Institution gets the name Gazi University.
Today, Gazi University carries out its educational and research activities with its 25 faculties, 21 colleges, 18
research centers and 5 institutes. The university has faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering and
Architecture, Economics and Administrative, Science and Arts, Law, Fine Arts.
Being the leader of the country with its education faculties, Gazi University has faculties in many other cities in
Turkey besides Ankara.
In addition to the students from all around the country Gazi has also more than 1500 foreign students from
Turkic states. It also meets the needs of academic staff of other universities with more than 5 thousand students
in master and PhD programmes.
The origins of Gazi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences trace back to Ankara
Economic and Commercial Sciences Academy which was founded in 1955. The Academy joined the Gazi
University in 1982 and constituted Gazi University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
Our Faculty is the largest Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Turkey, and is one of leading
schools in both education/teaching and social field. We have departments of Economics, Business Management,
Public Administration, International Relations, Econometrics, Public Finances, Labour Economy and Industrial
Relations.
We are looking for partners from the faculties which have departments of Economics, Business Management,
Public Administration, International Relations, Econometrics, Public Finances, Labour Economy and Industrial
Relations. or related departments such as politics, social sciences, human sciences, …etc.
At this moment we have partner universities from England, Austria, Belgium and Greece.
We would like to offer to sign a bilateral Socrates agreement with you for Academic staff and student exchange
program.
