Oak Ridge National Laboratories
Derek Woodgate, President, The Futures Lab, Inc.
Michael Lester, Technology Transfer Partnership Manager,
NASA Kennedy Space Center
Bob Young, Chief Economist & Deputy Executive Director,
American Farm Bureau Federation
harnessing the power of nasa’s technology transfer
This session will highlight three projects that are using technology to take the
industry boldly forward. HeroX uses crowdsourcing to advance initiatives including
AEM's Infrastructure Vision 2050 Challenge. Project AME is the first large-scale
application of additive manufacturing of steel, challenging us to reimagine the
entire manufacturing process. Reimaging is the idea behind the addition of
a new space at CONEXPO-CON/AGG dedicated solely to technology that
will shape the future of the construction industry.
Jodi Tack
has over
15 years
of creative
project
management experience
in the music, film and
nonprofit industries. In
2015, she joined HeroX
and has served as project
manager for challenges
sponsored by Forbes,
CHIME, AEM and
several others.
Lonnie Love,
Ph.D., is the
project lead
for the Big
Area
Additive Manufacturing
(BAAM) program that is
focusing on large-scale,
high-speed composite
additive manufacturing.
Derek
Woodgate,

futurist,
educator,
author, speaker and
curator. He is founder
and chief futurist at The
Futures Lab. Derek’s main
fields of expertise include
the future of learning and
the future of multimedia
and entertainment.
In this session, Michael Lester will dive deeper into the details
of the Technology Transfer program. He’ll share more examples
of collaboration, further define the benefits to the industry and
outline the steps you can take to apply the power of NASA
technology at your organization into what may come.
OFF-ROAD DIESEL EMISSIONS
time travel through the past, present and future
LASER FOCUS ON ECONOMIC ISSUES
This session will zero in on the economic issues that directly impact agriculture
with a focus on net farm income, yield estimates and ag commodities. You will
come away with a clear vision of how the factors that affect our industry are
impacting your business.
Bob Young analyzes short-term issues in support
of the Federation’s policy implementation efforts
and helps coordinate advocacy work.
Jack Kitowski, Air Resource Board
A representative from the Air Resource Board will review past engine emission
regulations, examine the status and impact of current initiatives and discuss
potential future policies. They will also share their perspective on how AEM
member products affect air quality so that you gain insight into what may come.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Mark Schaub, Business & Technology Development, Wolf Robotics LLC
You’ve heard that additive manufacturing is a game changer. In this session
you’ll learn what it takes to convert traditional designs, like cabs, from welding
to 3Dprinting. This breakout will dive into cost comparisons, materials and
expectations of what the future may hold for printing in heavy equipment.
Mark Schaub has pioneered technology road
maps for Wolf Robotics LLC in the area of
Computer Aided Robotics for both welding
and additive fabrication systems.

review of how gamification is being used to supercharge operator training.
Mark Vitner is a
managing director and
senior economist at
Wells Fargo, responsible
for tracking U.S. and
regional economic trends.
Jodi Tack, Project Manager, HeroX
You have heard how Infrastructure Vision 2050 is using crowdsourcing
to influence the future, but how can you put it to work within your
organization? In this breakout session, Jodi Tack will explain how
crowdsourcing can help solve problems and bring ideas to life
within your organization by fostering creativity from the outside.
