Description:

Firmware, 3.06 is now available for the InnovOx TOC Analyzers. Serial Numbers greater than and equal to 1511-0738 have been manufactured with 3.06 firmware. A summary of the firmware’s new features are as follows. For a complete list, please refer to the Description of Changes in this Field Service Bulletin.

Summary Features:

 Reactor loading sequence has been modified for improved analytical precision.

 System diagnostics have been expanded and improved.

 TOC conversion factor capability has been increased from 2 to 5. Reports and data displays have been adapted to report data based on user defined conversion factor name when a conversion factor is applied.

 Activating filter panel blowback pulses has been decoupled from enabling exterior pump.

Recommended actions:

InnovOx Firmware 3.06 is a recommended upgrade.

 Firmware 3.00 or greater Users: This upgrade is available at no charge and may be downloaded from our website, www.geinstruments,com . Newly revised Operation and Maintenance Manuals are also available on the website. They are designated as for firmware ver 3.05 and greater.

 Firmware 2.00 Users: This upgrade is optional. A 4GB flashcard is required prior to upgrading to Version 3.06. Part number APK 68510-09.

Important:

Due to data store changes, all data history and calibration parameters will be lost. Please backup all data history, system settings, and calibration protocols before performing this upgrade.

After upgrading to Firmware 3.06, DO NOT restore system settings from a backup performed prior to upgrading. This may cause a loss of constants in the analyzer due to differences between the firmware versions.

Any instrument upgraded from 3.04 or lower revision will require the instrument to be recalibrated.

Description of Instrument Application Changes from 3.04 to 3.06 Firmware

1.

For On-Line Instruments: i.

Sample Cup Flow Time changed to Sample Flow Time. Default time changed from 10 seconds to

45 seconds. Allows greater volume exchange in sample cup before analysis. ii.

C hange the sample cup failsafe check until after the user programmable exterior sample pump cycle has finished running. iii.

Add an exterior sample pump Enable/Disable button for each stream. If the exterior sample pump is enabled, turn the pump on for the Sample Flow time independent of the Blowback Pulses setting iv.

Only check the Check Standard level if the Check Standard stream is enabled. Default setting is

Enabled. v.

Change the minimum allowable Sample Flow Time setting (Setup > Online > Configure Online >

Stream 1 Setup > Flush / Blowback Setup > Sample Flow Time) from 10 to zero seconds. Removes any unnecessary delay in analysis time when sample cup flow is continuous. vi.

Only check the stream level if the Fail Safe is on and the Stream is enabled. vii.

Eliminate unnecessary Sample Flow Time Delays.

2.

Update the Range field of the data history screen to match the range selected. Previously it only showed 1000.

3.

Change default oxidizer percentage from 5% to 15%.

4.

When the analyzer stops a protocol due to an error or user intervention, a DI water flush is performed before becoming Idle. Previously this was not performed on stops due to errors.

5.

Added 3 additional Conversion Factor (CF) algorithms for a total of 5. Added user defined names. Improved CF annotations on reports and Data History outputs. Added Equation column to record and display equation in data history. Correct issues with handling order of operations or operator associativity.

6.

Added Leak Check data to 3 decimal places to last column in Data History.

7.

Results PDF reports will now report “N/A” when results are for TOC mode regardless of Sparge Time setting.

8.

PDF export, change title of from “InnovOx Result” to “Sample Result Detail” and replace the conversion factor data with the conversion factor’s display name in the main header. Results will be in conversion factor units with a conversion factor selected.

9.

The last row of the vial header of the Sample Result Detail PDF to show conversion factor if applied.

10.

Added an Equation column to export data.

11.

Added new “Software Version” button to the Maintenance screen. This screen displays the version numbers of the software, and all the module firmware.

12.

Improved function and message wording of Fatal Error 6423. If a minimum temperature of 340

°

C and maximum temperature of 390

°

C are not reached during analysis, then Fatal Error 6423 will be triggered and the following message appears: “Fatal Error: 6423 Reactor Heating Error There was a problem encountered with the Heater reaching the target temperature during the analysis cycle. Go to the Diagnostics screen and run the Heater Test. If the test does not pass, please export the errors and contact GE Analytical Instruments for further instructions.”
