TAIWAN RESEARCH VISITING SCHOLAR GRANT PROGRAM

The 2014 Taiwan Research Visiting Scholar Grant Program is funded by Education division, Taipei
Economics and Cultural Office in Austria aiming at promoting independent or collaborative
research on Taiwan-related topics by inviting international academics to visit and conduct field
research in Taiwan.
Grant:
The grant budget will cover an Economy class air fare ticket for a round trip between Zagreb and
Taipei by the most direct route. Cost of living in Taiwan, travel insurance and other expenses shall
be supported by the researcher. The grant can be taken by the researcher from August 1, 2014
through to October 20, 2014.
Fields of research:

Taiwan studies (including political and security issues as well as medicine, social sciences,
humanities, natural sciences and technology)
Economic and political relations between Croatia and Taiwan
Other issues regarding cooperation and exchange between Croatia and Taiwan in cultural,
scientific and educational fields
Qualifications of applicant

Croatian citizen (applicant of Taiwanese or Chinese descent do not qualify for this scholarship)
Lecturer / researcher / staff at university or other academic institution with PhD Degree
Good command of English

- Schedule of research activities in Taiwan (e.g.: meeting with university members, etc.)
- A letter of invitation of the Taiwanese host (academic institution or university department)

Awarded candidates will be informed on July 15, 2014.
A research report of at least 10 pages in English must be submitted to the Education Division by
November 30.
