This document explains how to restore your CenterPoint database.
Restore a Database to the same database name
1. Select File > Restore Database.
Restoring a database should be done from the
machine that stores the database. If this is a
network application, you will need to restore the
database from the server machine.
2. In the Backup File To Restore box, select the
file you want to restore. Click Browse to locate
the backup file (for example, from a CD or
another hard drive). The file name for the backup
file is "databasename.cpz."
3. In the Database To Restore box, the database
name that the backup file will be restored to will
display. The backup file will populate the
database name in the box.
4. In the Restore Databases Path box, the path
that the backup file will be restored to will display.
5. In the Server box, select the server where your
database should be restored. You should be
restoring the database at the machine that stores
the database. Typically, the default SQL Server
is local\(RWS).
6. Click Restore.
7. At the You are trying to restore database
"Databasename." If the database exists, all the
current data will be overwritten with the restore
database's data and cannot be retrieved. Do you
want to continue? message, click Yes to continue
restoring the database, or click No to cancel the
restore procedure.
8. At the Restore Completed Successfully message,
click OK.
Restore Database to a new database name

In Step 3 above, the Database To Restore box will fill in the database name from the backup file.
If you want a copy of the database with a different database name, change the name in the Database To Restore box.
The database name, as well as the database files, will be restored with the new name.
The final step to restore the database will still prompt the message if you wish to overwrite the existing file even though

this database name is not on the computer at this time. Answer yes to the message.
Click OK at the Restore Completed Successfully message.
If this is a network application, the work stations will need to add the new database name to the work station from File >
Administration > Database Maintenance. Click Add. From the Server box, select the server machine SQL Server.
The new database will list in the available databases. Select the new database. Click OK. It is now added to the list of
available databases on the work station. Click File > Open to open the database.
