Vacuum Truck Operator Job Description: Utilize the tools and equipment to perform general diagnostic, maintenance and repair to waste systems including, but not limited to grease interceptors, storm water management facilities, oil/ sand interceptors, elevator shaft pits, ejector systems, septic tanks and sewer lines. Personal Vehicle for transportation to and from work Mobile phone used to communicate with operations Knowledge of Federal Department of Transportation Regulations including but not limited to Hours of Service Regulations and DVIR Reporting procedures, permit guidelines including but not limited to the WSSC Waste Hauler’s Permit General Conditions, DC Water Waste Hauler Permit General Conditions, Little Patuxent Water Reclamation Plant General Conditions, Back River Waste Water Treatment Plant General Conditions, BallengerMcKinney Waste Water Treatment Plant General Conditions, Colvin Run Mill Waste Water Disposal Facility General Conditions, Noman M. Cole, Jr. Pollution Control Plant General, Conditions, Upper Occoquan Service Authority General Conditions, Shady Grove Transfer Station and The Montgomery County Oaks Landfill General Conditions and any other governing jurisdiction or disposal facility that affects our work. 1+ years’ experience in use and operation of the vacuum trucks in the fleet and including but not limited to all equipment and tools required to perform the scope of work and as listed in 4.0. Working knowledge and understanding of waste systems including but not limited to grease interceptors, storm water management facilities, oil/sand interceptors, elevator shaft pits, ejector systems, septic tanks, and sewer lines. Ability to drive, lift and operate heavy tools and equipment Knowledge of general mathematics and language abilities Ability to supervise and direct an apprentice or another vacuum truck operator Ability to work a flexible schedule
