Agricultural Facilities Design and Fabrication Course Syllabus To be prepared for careers in mechanized agriculture and technical systems, students attain knowledge and skills related to agricultural facilities design and fabrication. Students explore career opportunities, entry requirements, and industry expectations. To prepare for success, student reinforce, apply, and transfer their academic knowledge and technical skills in a variety of settings In this class you will: 1. Learn and apply the employability characteristics of a successful employee. 2. Demonstrate principles of facilities design and fabrication related to agricultural structures. 3. Plan, construct, and maintain fences, corrals, and other agricultural enclosures. 4. Explore the different types of power systems in agricultural facilities. 5. Construct agricultural structures using appropriate technology. 6. Demonstrate metal construction techniques related to agricultural design and fabrication. Class expectations: 1. NO HORSEPLAY IN SHOP 2. RESPECT a. Everything else listed directly ties into this expectation. 3. Pay FFA dues 4. Come to class prepared and on time 5. Have all required safety equipment before first scheduled day in the shop 6. Practice safety at all times while in the shop 7. Understand that all projects are to be paid for in full before work begins. Grading: 1. 75% derived from participation in shop and completion of daily tasks. 2. 25% Project grades
