This is an opportunity for a person with excellent problem solving ability, self-motivation, and above average customer service skills to join the team at Williams Machinery as an Assistant Operations Manager. Key Responsibilities: Manage the day to day aspects of the following departments; Parts and Rentals. Develop a highly engaged team through effective recruitment, training, communication, performance management and recognition activities. Actively promote and instill a customer focus throughout the departments and in interactions with other departments Daily engage customers in dialogue to understand needs, follow up on concerns and issues and thank them for their business Excel the customer experience. Obtain and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction in all customer interactions as evidenced by customer feedback and net promoter scores. Monitor (technical and other) training requirements of the team and arrange the appropriate training Drive team productivity to meet and or exceed monthly targets (revenue, inventory mgmt., fleet utilization, etc.) Understand and effectively manage the key metrics in parts and rentals throughout the year in order to grow profitability in parts and rentals. Promote and maintain a safe working environment complying with all health and safety policies, procedures and legislation Demonstrates a positive team attitude with drive and determination to achieving results This position has 9 direct reports and includes union and non-union staff. Support the Operations Manager in the running of the other departments such as the service admin team, service team, operator training team, etc. Other duties as assigned such as facility management, project planning, etc. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proven ability in building high performing teams Ability to deliver consistent, exceptional service to customers and team members Ability to build relationships in person, via phone and alternate methods of communication Excellent verbal and written communication skills Highly motivated, self-starter, enthusiastic and well organized Strong problem solving skills A proactive autonomous individual able to set own high standards and succeed. Previous experience and success as a lead, supervisor or manager of a department Experience and Education: 2+ years of experience in managing or supervising others 5 + years of experience as a member of a parts or rentals team/organization Industry experience is required Experience managing a unionized workforce is an asset Post-secondary education in a related discipline In our day to day interactions we are guided by our values and quest to be BC’s Preferred Equipment Dealer.
