How do I view the student book on my computer?
[Mac OS X]
To follow these steps you may need to contact your tech department.
1. Insert the DVD-ROM into your computer’s optical drive.
2. Click on the “Essential Physics” DVD icon on your desktop.
3. Click on the “Essential Physics” folder.
4. Click on “Essential Physics SB.html” to launch the student book in a browser window.
5. Enter your 10-digit access code.
6. Essential Physics opens.

2. On the “AutoPlay” pop-up window, click to “Open folder to view files” with Windows Explorer.
3. Click on the “EssentialPhysics” folder.
4. Click on “Essential Physics SB” to launch the student book (SB) in a browser window.
5. Enter your 10-digit access code.
6. Essential Physics opens.

How do I view the student book on my
iPad tablet or iPhone?
To follow these steps you may need to contact your tech department.
To access the Essential Physics e-Book using an iPad tablet (or an iPhone running iOS):
1. Insert Essential Physics DVD-ROM into an optical drive of a laptop or desktop computer.
2. Copy the entire “EssentialPhysics” folder (approx. 2.6 GB) from the DVD onto your local network’s
server.
3. Students and teachers access the e-Book by pointing to the file “Essential Physics SB.html” running
locally on your school’s server and launch the student book in a browser window.
4. Student enters a 10 digit access code.
5. Essential Physics opens.

How do I view the student book on my
Android OS tablet or smartphone?
To follow these steps you may need to contact your tech department.
To access the Essential Physics e-Book using a tablet/smartphone running the Android operating system:
1. Insert Essential Physics DVD-ROM into an optical drive of a desktop/laptop computer.
2. If you are using Mac OS X, then you will need to install the “Android File Transfer” app on your
desktop/laptop computer.
3. Connect your tablet (or smartphone) to your desktop/laptop computer using the mini-USB cable.
Copy the entire “Essential Physics” folder (approx. 2.6 GB) onto your tablet/smartphone’s internal
storage.
4. Using a file manager app on your tablet/smartphone, navigate to the “Essential Physics” folder and
open the file “Essential Physics SB.html”. It will launch in a browser window application.
5. Enter your 10-digit access code.
6. Essential Physics opens.

How do I view the student book on my
Chromebook?
To follow these steps you may need to contact your tech department.
To access the Essential Physics e-Book using a Chromebook running the Android operating system:
1. Insert Essential Physics DVD-ROM into an optical drive of a desktop/laptop computer.
2. Insert a SD card into the computer and copy the entire “Essential Physics” folder (approx. 2.6 GB)
onto the SD card.
3. Remove the SD card from the desktop/laptop computer and insert it into the Chromebook computer.
4. Using a file manager app on your Chromebook, navigate to the “Essential Physics” folder and
open the file “Essential Physics SB.html”. It will launch in a browser window.
5. Enter your 10-digit access code.
6. Essential Physics opens.
