Web Hosting Administration
Your web site is hosted for you on the EIM servers under your domain name. You can
design and build your web site locally and then upload your files.
Uploading your files
To upload your files, you can use ftp software. If you are uploading your files from a
computer running Windows 95 or Windows 98, ftp is already installed on your computer.
If you have a browser that supports drag-and-drop ftp (for example, Internet Explorer 5),
use: ftp://www.yourdomain.co.ae as your url. For example, if your domain is
www.media.co.ae, you would enter ftp://www.media.co.ae. You will be prompted for a
username and password. Enter your web hosting username and password. You can then
drag and drop your files into the appropriate directories.
If you are using the ftp client from Windows 95/98/NT, go to the command prompt, and
change the directory to where you have the files you wish to upload. At the command
prompt, type ftp www.yourcompany.co.ae. For example, if your domain is
www.media.co.ae, you would type ftp://www.media.co.ae. Follow the prompts or review
the sample ftp session below.
Please note the following as you upload your files:

The default home page file name should be index.html
If you have a cgi script, place it in the directory cgi-bin
If you want to configure a FrontPage extension, please contact the System
Administrator
You can upload either html files (text) or images (binary files).
Sample ftp session
The following is a sample session for domain media.co.ae, and username mediainc.

Changing the web hosting password
To change the domain administration password, ie, the ftp password you use to upload
files to your web site, go to the Emirates Internet and Multimedia site and click on Web
Hosting Password under the heading Your Account. Click here to go there now.

In the Login ID field, enter your web hosting username. In the example above, the
username is mediainc.
In the Domain field, enter your domain name, including www, i.e.
www.yourcompany.co.ae. For example, if your domain name is media.co.ae, enter
www.media.co.ae.
In the password field, enter your web hosting password.
Click on Login.
Please note that changing your web hosting password will have no effect on your mail
administration or router configuration password.
