Schedule A
1. General
Chennai port trust has proposed for supply and laying of 5 & 50 pairs of
unarmored telephone cables using PVC casing ‘n’ caping & pipes at Central
Documentation Complex in Chennai port trust.
2. Scope of work
The scope of work includes :
(A)
1) Supply of 5 pair un-armored telephone cable of length 1500 metres.
2) Supply of 50 pair un-armored telephone cable of length of 300 metres.
3) Supply of ¾ inch Heavy Duty type PVC casing ‘n’ caping 1.2 mm thickness of a total
length of 1500 metres.
4) Supply of 1 inch dia. PVC 25mm, Heavy Duty of thickness 1.8mm to a total length of
300 metres.
(B)
1) Fixing of ¾ inch width PVC casing ‘n’ caping supplied on the wall near floor level
using fastener.
2) Fixing of 1 inch dia PVC pipe supplied on the wall using clamps and fasteners.
3) Laying of 5 pair un-armored telephone cable inside the ¾ inch PVC casing ‘n’
caping.
4) Laying of 50 pair un-armored telephone cable inside the 1 inch PVC pipe.
3.(A)Specification
1) 5 Pair un-armored telephone cable, copper conductor, 0.5mm size and PVC sheathed
telephone cable – Total Qty. – 1500 Metres.
Make:Finolex (or) Delton.
2) 50 Pair un-armored telephone cable, copper conductor, 0.5mm size and PVC sheathed
telephone cable – Total Qty. – 300 Metres.
Make:Finolex (or) Delton.
3) ¾ inch width PVC pipe of Heavy Duty type 1.2 mm thickness casing ‘n’ caping.
Make: Pressfit (or) Finolex of ISI markings on the PVC casing ‘n’ caping – Total length :
1500 Mtrs.
4)1 inch dia PVC 25mm, Heavy duty type pipes of thickness 1.8 mm.
Make:Finolex (or) press fit of ISI markings on the PVC pipe – Total length – 300 Mtrs.
(5) Laying of Cable – 50 Pairs:
The cables supplied shall be laid by inserting inside the supplied PVC pipes as per
the instruction of the Trust Engineer at site. The cable inserted pipes shall be clamped on
the wall as instructed by the Trust Engineer using the fastener & clamps supplied by the
Trust. Details of cable length to be laid at different places is as mentioned below:
(6) Laying of Cable – 5 Pairs:
The cable supplied shall be laid inside the PVC casing ‘n’ caping supplied.
The PVC casing shall be first fixed on the wall as per the instruction of Trust’s Engineer
using the fasteners supplied by Trust. After fixing the cable, the cable shall be laid and
covered with PVC caping./ Details of cable length to be laid at different places is
mentioned below :(B)Laying details for telephone cables:
The I floor and Basement renovations are already completed. So the
Telephone wiring in these floors are to be done using Casing and Caping.

The III floor, II floor and Ground floor are to be renovated within a year in
a interval of 3 months. In these floors, Telephone wiring to be done as concealed inside
the 1 inch dia PVC pipe.

NOTE:
(i) The firm shall accept all Terms and Condition of Chennai Port Trust.
(ii) 50 pair unarmoured Telephone cable to be layed inside 1 inch dia PVC pipe and
the same shall be concealed on the wall are to be done for the floors which are
going to be renovated.
(iii)The contractor shall inspect the site before quoting the budgetary offer.
(iv)The work shall be completed within 30 days from the date of handing over the
site.
(v) 100% payment will be made after completion and acceptance of each work by
Floor wise.
(vi) For any clarifications about the work, the firm may contact the Executive
Engineer (E& C) at II floor of old administrative office building, Chennai Port
Trust, Chennai-600001@ Telephone no.25362201 Extn: 2708
(vii)The necessary Clamps, Fasteners, PVC Bends, PVC Couplings & Wooden plugs
reuired for laying will be supplied by the trust.
(viii)Any pass is requested , it shall be obtained from CISF, CPT at the responsibility
of the Tenderer.
(ix)Work shall be guaranteed for a minimum period of six months from the date of
completion and acceptance of the work.
