Skyward EA Plus: Posting Grades (Middle School and High School only) This handout is devoted to posting grades at the Middle and High Schools using Skyward grading. Note: before posting the first quarter (hex) the grade book must be setup as desired (grade marks etc); once a posting period is completed, the grade book cannot be changed for the rest of the course. It is vital that teachers maintain their grade books and do not rely on the office for grade updates. The office changes do not reflect in calculations or in Family Access. • • • • • • • • Before you can post your grades you must eliminate all asterisks (please see directions below) Accommodations for extenuating circumstances for missing assignments are recorded by changing the student’s grade to an incomplete. (Please see handout for recording incomplete grade marks.) Before you can post your grades you must review your grade book and be sure all students have a grade. Secretaries cannot override your grades due to family access and grade calculations. You can post your grades as soon as the grade buckets are open. You have until the grade buckets are closed to post (or repost) your grades. Every time you change a student’s grades you must post grades again for that class. You can post your grades, as many times as you want, while the grade buckets are open. To eliminate asterisks: Asterisks will not be counted toward a student’s grade. Therefore, before posting, all asterisks must be changed to the absent code, the exempt code or a zero (or the actual grade). Students’ names will appear here.
