PATROL SECTORS
202.1 Purpose and Scope:
A.
Purpose - The purpose of this procedure is to describe
the fixed Patrol Sectors for the Bridgeton Police Department.
B.
Scope - This procedure is applicable to all .Uniform
Patrol operations of the City of Bridgeton.
202.2
A.
For Uniform Patrol purposes, the City of Bridgeton
shall be divided into Patrol Sectors.
B.
The City shall be di.vided into two different sector
configurations; a four car map (4 sectors) and a three
car map (3 sectors).
A three car map (3 sectors) will
only be used in emergency or unusual circumstances.

Four car map will consist of four sectors, numbered
401, 402, 403 and 404.

car map will consist of three sectors, numbered
and 503·.
202.3 The Patrol Supervisor will utilize the car map for
the Shift that best fulfills manpower and workload needs.
Whenever the three car map is utilized, the Chief of Field
Operations will be notified.
202.4 Any Officers over those necessary to man the Sectors
shall be used for crime prevention patrol, traffic enforcement,
or specific needs as determined by the Patrol Supervisor.
202.5 The intent of this patrol vehicle is to establish
methods of patrol to prevent/discover suppressible crimes,
or attempt apprehension of responsible persons.
This patrol
vehicle should also volunteer assists when two Officers are
needed on an assignment; thereby keeping another sector car
from being removed from its assigned area.
